Rural communities experience unique challenges when it comes to mental health. Higher rates of depression and struggles with mental health are common, yet accessing care can be more difficult.

If you or someone you know lives in a rural area, know that support is available and reaching out can make a real difference.

Start the conversation, check in with neighbors, and explore resources that fit your community’s needs.

If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline 💛

Understanding the issues concerning su***de and mental health is an important way to take part in su***de prevention, help others in crisis, and change the conversation around su***de.

04/22/2026

Everyone in Kansas can play a part in supporting mental well-being. By understanding risk factors, we can work together to address the root causes and help our communities thrive.

This approach is especially important for groups who experience higher rates of su***de, such as adult men, older adults, Veterans, those in rural areas, LGBTQ+ individuals, and agricultural workers.

Connection, understanding, and support matter. Learn more about how you can make a difference in your community with our State Plan:https://kansassu***depreventioncoalition.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Kansas-Su***de-Prevention-State-Plan-2026-2030-Final.pdf
