Finally, the newest Postpartum Doula on our team (for now)!

✨ Becky and I met through her daughter (who is currently serving as a birth doula and student midwife)!

🌿 I am so glad to have another Postpartum doula who is ready to provide support both during the day and overnight!

💕 I’ll let Becky share from her heart:

“Motherhood isn’t meant to be done alone, and you don’t have to do everything to be a good mom.

Let me care for you, while you care for your little one. You are so worthy of rest, nourishment, and support in this sacred season. Think of me like the mom-friend, extra set of hands, and peaceful presence every new mama deserves in her home.

I love loving people through warm, home-cooked meals, sharing recipes from my kitchen, and simply showing up for them in the messy, beautiful parts of life.

✨ Katie and I have been hosting the Bump to Baby Support Circle in Lawrence for the past 2 years. She has been a steady presence of support for me in nurturing new moms in Lawrence!

🌿 We are so blessed to have Katie on the Postpartum team, who is ready to support mothers during the day!!

“Mothers are superheroes! To hold space for their primal strength and intuitiveness is both empowering and humbling. It’s incredibly fulfilling to support and nurture their own unique matrescence (transformations of motherhood) journey.

Whether you need help optimizing your home in preparation for a growing family, or building your postpartum care plan to include nourishment, feeding, sleep, and newborn care, I’d love to help.

I’m also passionate about supporting mothers in preparing their home for a newborn without the overwhelm. This desire was born out of my own transition into motherhood.

In 2022, I completed an Eco-Maternity course from the International Parenting Health Institute. This certification provided extensive knowledge of the environmental toxins common in pregnancy and newborn products.

In my Eco Nesting work, I aim to give relief to the mental load of mothers while celebrating their progress over perfection as it relates to the health of their home environment.”

✨ Misty was one of the first postpartum doulas I connected with in Kansas City. She is such a wealth of knowledge as she has been doing the work of Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, and Sleep Consultant for more than 20 years!

I pride myself on being calm in emergencies, organized, communicative, and adaptable. I want to make your life easier in every aspect from helping you heal, bond, sleep and providing responsive care for your little one. I will maintain a detailed log of all bodily functions for baby, feeding and sleep. Your nursery will be stocked and tidy before I leave in the morning.

I believe in empowering parents by fostering bonding, healing, and confidence in their natural instincts. I will guide them every step of the way without pushing any specific methods.”

🌿 Betsy () has been a certified birth doula for 10 years now and has supported almost 100 women in labor. She is passionate about sharing her wisdom with newer doulas and therefore started this sisterhood of doulas!

Betsy has also really enjoyed working as a postpartum doula and in supporting women in their role as a new mom.

💕 Betsy sharing from her heart:

“My first birth was so long and hard. I labored for 27 hours, working hard to keep contractions coming, because my baby was in a wonky position. I was so grateful for my friend and doula by my side at the birth center because she encouraged me and gave me the confidence and strengthened my determination to keep going.

By the time I gave birth to my third and fourth babies at home, I could see how much body preparation made a difference. My third was a fast 1.5-hour labor, and my fourth was a beautiful 4-hour water birth where my daughter came easily into my arms. These experiences lit a fire in me to help other women prepare their bodies, minds, and hearts for birth in ways that felt grounded and empowering.

As a postpartum doula, I love coming alongside families in those early weeks to provide overnight care, newborn education, and ongoing support. I’m especially passionate about helping parents feel rested, confident, and truly seen during postpartum. It’s a time that’s often overlooked, but so critical for the health of the whole family.”
