🌿 Next up: the Kansas City birth team!!

✨ Bethany () and I were connected recently by another doula. I knew immediately that she would be a perfect fit for the Thrive Together Doulas team!!

🌿 We are so blessed to have Bethany on the Kansas City birth team!! She has been passionate about this work for a long time!!

💕 I’ll let Bethany share from her heart:

“I started my doula journey with the birth of my sister’s first child where I was able to support and encourage her throughout her labor and I was immediately hooked! I am certified through Birth and Beyond KC and provide prenatal, birth, and postpartum care.

I chose to become a doula because I believe every woman deserves to be fully supported, seen, heard, and cared for in mind, body, and spirit. Every journey into motherhood is different, and my role is to offer guidance and presence you can trust.

Outside of work as a doula and nurse I love to play pickle ball, board games, and with my two kitties.

I am not only passionate about traveling, but learning about other cultures as well. I have had the privilege of traveling to Uganda and Argentina, and am hoping to add more countries to that list in the future. Being a doula is one of my steps to one day attending midwifery school.

I have had the privilege of attending several births with my doula mentor. I have done home and hospital births of both low and high intervention. I believe birth is an incredible miracle created by God and I would be so honored to be allowed to participate in that miracle with you.”

✨ Mikya - pronounced mah-kai-yah () was one of the first doula Kansas City Doulas I reached out to and she warmly responded. We met and I could tell our goals aligned - we want to help moms throughout pregnancy AND the postpartum time.

🌿 We are so blessed to have Mikya not only on the Kansas City birth team but also the Postpartum team! She and I have already been working with a new family together.

Outside of doula work, I love creating warm, welcoming spaces where people can gather, share stories, and build community. I’m all about meaningful conversations and a good card game.

I spend my quiet moments either reading, knitting, or baking bread. These hobbies help me recharge and stay grounded. I also love traveling - exploring new places is one of my favorite hobbies!”

✨ Brittany (). When Brittany started sharing online some of her journey in becoming a mom and doula - I knew I needed to connect with her!

🌿 We are so blessed to have Brittany on the Kansas City birth team, she has an interest in teaching and a passion for being creative.

💕 I’ll let Brittany share from her heart:

“My journey into birthwork began with my own experiences: multiple losses, a traumatic hospital birth, and a redemptive home birth with doula support. Each one shaped my heart for supporting others through the same.

I was called to be a doula to walk with women through both the pain and the beauty of pregnancy and birth, hold space for healing, and help them to feel empowered in their stories.

Trained as a birth and bereavement doula through Stillbirthday, I specialize in early pregnancy loss, healing after miscarriage or birth trauma, and supporting the unique journey of rainbow baby pregnancies.

Outside of birth work, I am an artist and children’s book author. I enjoy spending time with my family, doing DIY projects around our home, thrifting, and listening to podcasts.

God made a woman’s body to give birth. I believe every amazing aspect of pregnancy, labor, and birth is by God’s design and should be highly respected and honored.

I walk alongside families with faith-filled compassion, gentle support, and a deep commitment to emotional healing and informed decision-making.”

🌱 Victoria was the first doula to reach out, wanting to work on the team!

FUN FACT: Within the first two weeks of moving to Topeka, Betsy and Victoria attended a birth together!

🌿 We are so blessed to not only have Victoria on the Topeka team, but stepping up as the Lead Doula to help Betsy out.
