We had a very kind woman brought in a walker this morning - and within 5 minutes Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medicals mobile integrated health team came to take it to someone in need! 💛

We have had a lot of equipment picked up💛💛💛. (We still have a lot of things, so let us know if you are needing something)

We had a request for an oxygen concentrator. If there is anyone that has an oxygen concentrator that they are wanting to donate, we have someone that would be very appreciative!

What a great community we have for wrap around supports for our seniors! We have several items in our Lawrence office that we’d love to share!

We have had several donations these past few days…. If you or someone you know would benefit from the blessing of one of these things; please give our office a call and see if it’s still available, and we can arrange a time for you to pick it up.

We have several shower chairs, walkers, canes, crutches, a power wheelchair, bed canes, and several other things.

**These items are donated to us so that we can pass them on, as always it’s free to anyone that needs it, so if this can be a blessing to someone you know, please give us a call 785-592-1848

When I ask some of our clients what made them stay in Lawrence after retirement they always tell me “the people” - No truer words were ever spoken.

We started our donation closet in 2019. I have no idea how many people we have been able to help BECAUSE of “The People” here in Lawrence!

We have an abundance of walkers right now - since spring is coming which means rain - if you need another walker to use outside so you don’t bring water and mud into your home, please reach out to us. Our equipment is always free, no questions asked.

We also have a very nice power chair that was donated. It will take a wheelchair accessible van to transport it. So if you know someone that is struggling to get around, we would love to pass on another families blessing! 💛

We have had a gracious family donate multiple things. We are still searching for the next home for these two wheelchairs!

❌UPDATE: SPOKEN FOR - All Black Chair - Used for inside use, in great shape. Comes with large bag hanging on backside, foot pedals, and gel seat cushion.

✅STILL AVAILABLE - Tan Seat Chair - Used for outdoor use, the seat of actual chair is weathered as it was the “front porch chair”. Comes with the tan seat cushion shown and foot pedals.

We are excited to be adding to our team again! Keep Living At Home we have had MANY MANY MANY really amazing caregivers that are continuing to bless others in different areas of life!

We had a few graduate, and one long time caregiver retire! 💛 As we celebrate their successes we also work to bring on some additional team members.

What are we looking for?

Due to the impending weather PLEASE check on your elderly neighbors. Make sure they have food -if you lose power- make sure they have a source of keeping warm - elderly people have a tendency to be cold anyway.

Our winter storm starts this evening, so today is your last chance to prepare! Confidence remains high in everyone seeing some accumulating snow with higher amounts the farther south you go. The first wave of snow comes this evening/overnight into Saturday with a lull during the late morning and into the afternoon before additional snow builds in Saturday night. Falling and accumulating snow will likely make travel hazardous!

We got a call that needs your help! A sweet lady that is on oxygen, but other than her lungs not working great she is still very active and wants to Keep Living ~

Is there anyone in our area that has a Portable Oxygen Concentrator to donate or sell at a reasonable cost?

🎄 For Those Whose Christmas Feels Different This Year 🎄

The holidays are often painted as joyful and full of cheer — but we know that isn’t the reality for everyone.

For many of the seniors we serve, this season may come with quiet moments, deep memories, and tender emotions. Some are facing their first Christmas without a spouse, others are adjusting to changes in independence, health, or daily routines. And for some, this time of year can feel heavy rather than merry.

At Keep Living At Home, we want you to know this:
You are seen. You are valued. And you are not alone. ❤️

Our caregivers don’t just help with daily tasks — they provide companionship, kindness, patience, and understanding. Sometimes that looks like sharing stories, sitting quietly together, listening, or simply being a familiar, comforting presence when the days feel long.

If this holiday season is hard for you or someone you love, please know there is no “right” way to feel. However it looks, however it feels — it’s okay.

We are so grateful to share that a stair lift has served its purpose for a family and they are ready to generously donate to someome else in need. ❤️

This unit includes two short lift sections with a landing in between. It will require a new battery pack (that is $250 when ordered online), but is otherwise in great shape and ready to help someone regain comfort and independence in their home.
