~ Crimson's 2025 Year Reflection ~
If I had to sum up 2025 in one word, it would be gratitude ππ½.
I'm not only grateful for the blessings but for the challenges as well.
In March, 2 days after a client gave birth, I protested the wrongful death of Tenisha Evans who died from C-Section complications in Far Rockaway, Queens.
I was with my client for over 48+ hours & had 1 day to recoup my energy to be present for the protest.
When I tell ppl I am a Maternal & Infant Guardian, they're not just words.
Being able to have my clients show up for me in various ways such as thank you gifts & "I got you",
is an honor that I don't take for granted.
Being able to be in the same room with heavy hittas while we fight for Black & Brown women to be heard, seen, valued & receive justice in the Maternal space is a privilege.

The screening plus Q&A was truly mind-blowing ππ½.
To share in special moments with my Irth Fam during the screening of "Behind The Joy: Maternal Mental Health" by at CUNY York College, came full-circle.
was the institution that started me on my path to Midwifery in 2012, which led me to becoming a Doula in 2014.
Being able to table at a Black owned supermarket AND meet a York student who included me & my Irth Sis in her final paper on Black Maternal Health
(another full circle moment).
And last but not least.
Having one of my purposes here on Earth be confirmed (even more) - being interviewed with on Maternal health.
Growing up, Newsday was my version of the NY Times.
I read it from cover to cover like I was 30 instead of 10.
To see myself on a full page spread humbled me in a way that my ancestors are still feeling the effects.
My motto is "I will tell you what your OB & GYN won't".
2025 showed me why it will always ring true...
