Big win for the community right here 👇

We’re excited to share that Johnson County Mental Health Center is partnering with the Go Further Foundation to offer FREE Mental Health First Aid training for 100 community members in 2026.

Mental health challenges often show up in everyday moments, with friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors. Mental Health First Aid gives you the tools to recognize the signs, respond with confidence, and connect someone to the help they need.

Think of it like CPR, but for mental health.

🧠 What you’ll learn:
• How to recognize signs of mental health and substance use challenges
• How to support someone in crisis
• How to connect people to professional help

📅 Four trainings available (April–November)
📍 First session: Saturday, April 18 at Netsmart in Overland Park
đź’˛ Cost: FREE (thanks to Go Further Foundation covering the $50 fee)

Spots are limited, and we expect these to fill quickly.

📣NEW TRAINING | When Change is Constant: Supporting Military-Connected Children and Families

Military families are part of our everyday communities, including our neighbors, coworkers, and the families we serve.
While places like Fort Riley, Fort Leavenworth, and McConnell Air Force Base are well known, many service members in the Reserves and National Guard live across Kansas, balancing civilian life with sudden deployments and frequent transitions.

This new training shares practical, real-world strategies to better understand and support military-connected children and families in our communities.

Join us in person in Manhattan on April 28 or live virtually on April 30.
