✨New Offering✨
Prenatal Birth Mentorship — Birth Coaching

I’ve been doing this for a while, but haven’t made it official. Now is the time! It always means so much to me when women reach out, asking if we can talk more one-on-one, trusting me to help them prepare for birth.

I love answering ALL questions, dispelling misconceptions, and instilling women with confidence and trust.

With my combination of working in both hospital and homebirth settings, personal birth experiences, and knowledge of physiologic birth, I hope to empower many women and equip them for the birth experiences they dream of.

Please DM me if you’re curious and want to see if this is right for you!

📸 Photo taken by me of my amazing client who rocked her first birth! Unmedicated, with no unnecessary interventions, just like she wanted! Look at that glance of recognition and adoration that her baby is giving her. 🥹

She followed her instincts which were telling her she wanted a doula at her birth. With only a couple weeks to prepare, we jumped right in, talking about her vision for her birth, her fears, what she knew and what she was undecided on.

Labor began one morning and she labored and home beautifully, heading in to the hospital at just the right time. She was able to listen to her body and move around throughout her labor, trying the shower, squatting, and many other positions. She soon felt the urge to push and birthed her daughter powerfully!!

The numbers are fun, but beyond all the statistics, I leave 2024 behind feeling deeply grateful for the families I was able to serve. Thank you for trusting me in your journeys; for your openness, appreciation, and friendship. There are not words for how proud I am of you all!

So proud of my amazing client, who walked through every moment of her pregnancy and birth with assurance and trust in her intuition and faith. Even when she was having doubts thrown at her from every direction, she and her husband remained steadfast and made the choices that felt right to them.

It's a beautiful day for a VBAC story, isn't it? Meet Kelly, about her birth, she writes...

"For my first birth, I was told I had an 11lb baby. I was induced, I never dilated, and I experienced a botched c-section. After all the trauma, I didn't even want to hold our perfect little 7lbs baby. Yea, the ultrasound tech got it wrong. It took me five years to talk myself into getting pregnant again. I wanted more kids but the prospect of birth was triggering. If I was going to go through this again, I was going to do it my way. And I did! The best decision I made was hiring Elaine from Woven Wonders, my doula. She walked my husband and me through successful VBAC stories. She painted a picture of a labor experience that empowered me to let my body work the way it was designed. She prepared me for conversations with doctors and family members that didn't understand my priorities. For example, the OB we had to see at the midwife clinic suggested I get induced at 38 weeks! Ummm... no. My husband fielded phone conversations from well intentioned family members that explained the "dangers" of a going past my due date. Finally, after just over 42 weeks a membrane sweep kicked in labor. I needed a little Pitocin but was able to keep a relaxing atmosphere. After a few hours I had dilated to a 7 before getting an epidural! I didn't want one at first but it was right for me. I was able to rest for a few more hours before pushing my perfect girl out. The midwife laid her on my chest. With a clear, emotionally stable mind I was able to hold my little girl for the first time."

Still in awe of this birth I attended several weeks ago. My client and her husband were the best team, supported by the amazing Meraki Midwives.

The last birth I attended in 2023. Such a good one. I share more of the story over on IG . 🥰 Grateful to the amazing UUK Midwife Clinic for their care throughout this long induction and to my sweet sweet clients who honored me by allowing me to be present. We all celebrated together when baby arrived.

This year, I won’t be taking clients in December, so don’t conceive early March-early April if you’ve thought about having me as your doula or photographer. 😅

2023 was an amazing year… with so many powerful moments, like victorious vbacs, rainbow babies, peaceful homebirths, empowering hospital births, inductions without Pitocin, and so much more. Thank you to every family who welcomed me into their journey.

I want to know how you were born.

Were you welcomed with gentleness and warmth, perhaps into your mother or father’s own hands, or with the cold pain of forceps or a scalpel? How did your mother feel in that moment? Did she feel safe and held or did she feel helpless and insignificant?

Did your mother tell you your birth story?

Did her eyes hold fear?

Were her words heavy with trauma?

How did you feel when you heard your story?

What were you taught to believe about birth?

And when we talk, we will go back even further, following the thread through your family, unraveling everything you believe and have been told. We hold these stories and far-off memories in our bodies; they will impact our own births. But we can do the work.

The choices we make in birthing our daughters will affect how they one day birth their own children.

And for those mamas who are reclaiming their power after difficult past births, I want to know every detail of your stories.

Still in awe and feeling grateful that I got to be a part of this moment, hanging back in the shadows, teetering on a stool, crying silently along with their wonderful doula. The biggest thank you to this family for allowing me to be a part of their experience and trusting me to capture this once-in-a-lifetime event. Welcome to this world, baby girl! You are so loved.
