I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Wanted to post that I have tweaked my massage cupping techniques a little. Took 4 days of training in Louisville August 27th through August 30th specifically on massage cupping. If you had cupping from me before and it was a little too much for you, I encourage you to give cupping another try. My clients are experiencing tremendous pain relief and similarities to Jello when the session is over!

I'm going to be taking ceu classes for my continuing education for massage therapy in July of this year. I'll be at Advanced Massage Therapeutics a massage school in Louisville off Breckinridge Lane where I took some classes a few years ago. I'll be learning Manual Lymph Drainage Sports MLD and Manual Lymph Drainage Sensory Integration from Elisa Difalco who is a Manual Lymph Drainage Instruction in Florida and works with oncologists in the area. This new training will help me work more responsibly with my cancer clients.

I always have water for my clients to drink after their massage. It is very important to hydrate your body after a massage....all those toxins that I worked loose in your body need help making it out of your body. I have room temperature or cold water. I now can offer clients hot tea after their massage as well since I added a Primo Water System to my office! I carry an assortment of Republic of Tea flavors.

I mentioned a HOT STONE MASSAGE in my last post. For those of you that have never had one, they are absolutely wonderful in the middle of winter. The stones are heated to 140 degrees, very safe temperature level, no burning the client! I put down 4 hand towels on your back then lay a row of hot stones down your spine. These heat the back half of your body core. I then use a hot stone in each hand to massage you while you hold a hot stone in each of your hands. After the back side of you is complete you roll over and I lay the 4 towels on your chest/stomach followed by a row of hot stones from your collar bone to past your belly button. This heats the front half of your core. The level of relaxation is totally awesome and it balances your core. Want to schedule one? 60 minutes of HOT STONE MASSAGE is $65.00. 90 minutes is $85.00.

Just me and my cats! Both morning massage appointments canceled for this morning due to this extreme cold weather and snow. I can't blame them a bit, love being "home" when the weather is bad just like everybody else!!!

I'm so excited about being able to take an herb class at the end of April from "Firebear" a Native Amierican Indian who lives in Cecelia, KY. We are going to learn about the 15 basic herbs you need to have in your herbal medicine chest and how to prepare tinctures, cremes and salves, and how to make healthy household cleaners. I hope this will be the first of a new realm of learning for me!
