Meet Anna Smyth, a Master of Social Work intern who has been working in the mental health and wellness field for about 10 years. Her desire to serve clients deeper and more holistically led her to seek a second master’s degree and clinical licensure as a therapist.

Anna specializes in mindfulness-based practices, parent/child relationships, trauma healing, and stress management. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

When Anna is not in the office, she enjoys reading, lifting weights, trying new recipes, exploring the outdoors, picking tomatoes with her daughter, and taking afternoon naps in the sun.

We’re excited to introduce you to Liz Whitesides, a Clinical Mental Health Counselor intern who was inspired to pursue a career as a therapist after familial experiences with mental health and relationship challenges. Liz has found hope, healing, and courage through her own personal learning and awareness. She wants to give back and help others find the same healing.

Liz enjoys work grounded in a person-centered approach, supporting clients in developing greater self-awareness around their needs, values, and goals. She values a psychodynamic perspective to healing, recognizing that personal histories play an important role in shaping who we are today. She believes that exploring these patterns can help us better understand ourselves and identify what may be interfering with well-being, fulfillment, and healing.

Liz enjoys watching funny prank videos on YouTube and laughing her head off. She believes laughter makes life’s challenges feel lighter.

If you feel like Liz would be a good fit for someone you love, visit her web bio or call our Intake Team today to schedule an appointment.

Chocolate is great, but have you tried the soul-soothing power of saying "no" to a plan you don't want to attend?

There's a lot of "Treat Yourself" messaging out there, and don't get us wrong—we love a spa day as much as anyone, but there's a big difference between Surface Self-Care and Radical Self-Love.

Surface Self-Care is maintenance. It’s the "reset" button we hit when we’re stressed. It feels good for an hour.

Radical Self-Love is the transformation. It’s the "rebuild" of how you treat yourself. It’s often uncomfortable, un-aesthetic, and quiet.

This Valentine's Day, try something radical for yourself. Maybe it looks something like:

✨ Saying "no" without a 10-paragraph explanation.

✨ Forgiving yourself for that thing you did in 2019.

✨ Showing up for your therapy appointment when you’d rather stay in bed.

✨ Cleaning your kitchen because "Future You" deserves to wake up to a clean space.

What un-aesthetic way are you practicing self-love?

Who is running the commentary in your head? 🎙️ Is your inner monologue a supportive coach or a relentless critic?

The Inner Critic loves to use words like “should,” “always,” and “never.” Its intention is motivation, but there's a better way.

This we're performing an inner critic audit! 📝

Step 1: Notice the thought as it happens.

Step 2: Give the critic a name to externalize it. (Maybe it's a grumpy co-worker or a mean middle-schooler.)

Step 3: Refit the script. Ask yourself if you would say this to a friend.

Can you commit to being a little kinder to yourself this month? Let us know what you found helpful! 👇

There’s power in the smallest acts of kindness or positivity. Moments when someone’s words or actions give you a little more light to hold onto.
But have you ever stopped to think that you might be that spark for someone else?
What if just your presence, your smile, or your words were enough to remind someone they’re not alone?
We often don’t realize the ripple effects we create, but the things we do today might be the hope someone else needs to keep going.

Emily felt drawn to social work as an 18-year-old, but didn’t end up pursuing it at the time. After working in healthcare billing for several years and experiencing the mental drain that comes from chronic illness, Emily’s desire to return to social work was rekindled.

Emily is looking forward to walking alongside clients who are working through anxiety, body image issues, depression, life changes, marital issues, chronic illness, perfectionism, spiritual/religious issues and trauma.

On a weekend, you can find Emily in the mountains with her family, reading a good book, or watching a football game.

If you feel like Emily would be a good fit for someone you love, visit her web bio or call our Intake Team today to schedule an appointment.

🎄 The holidays can be hard when you’re healing your relationship with food.
It’s okay if joy and discomfort exist together.
💛 You don’t have to earn your place at the table.
🌿 Focus on connection, not perfection.
Plan support, honor your limits, and choose what helps you feel safe.

Healing includes grace for yourself, especially this season.

Bree noticed significant changes in the need for mental health services after COVID in both her classroom and her home. Doing all she could to support those she cared for, she decided to take action and gain the skills needed to make a real difference.

Bree’s natural ability to connect, listen, and engage with a wide range of personalities makes her especially effective with adolescents and a favorite among her teen clients. Bree also believes that working with families is essential to building understanding, fostering validation, and promoting healthy communication.

Whether singing, acting, or directing, the stage has always felt like home to Bree. She also loves to read books of all genres and is a baseball enthusiast, especially when it comes to the New York Yankees.
