Journey to Rise

Journey to Rise Helping you build body confidence from the inside out…without obsessing over food, fitness, or the scale 👊

I used to think saying “just one more bite” was helpful.

Like I was encouraging my kids to eat enough, try something new, or doing what’s best for them.

But what I started noticing was more tension… not more trust.

That phrase ultimately teaches us to override our body cues, to eat for approval instead of awareness.

So I stopped saying it.

Now I remind my kids (and myself) that their bodies get a say too.

This isn’t about letting everything go or getting it “right.”
It’s about making food feel a little safer, one meal at a time.

If this made you pause, save it.

And if you know a parent who would appreciate this reminder, send it their way 🤍

I was reminded this week how easy it is to think effort only counts when it looks big.

But showing up doesn’t have to be extreme to matter.

*A 15-minute workout still builds trust with your body.
*Being more mindful with food still shifts your relationship with it.
*Doing something instead of nothing still moves you forward.

The depth of what you do isn’t what creates progress.
It’s choosing to keep coming back that matters most.

And when the scale becomes the loudest voice, it’s easy to forget the real reasons you started;
more energy, more strength, more confidence, more presence in your life. ✨

So if today looks like “good” or “better” instead of “best,”
let it count.

You’re building something that lasts. 🌿

Save this for the days you start questioning if it’s enough.🫶

This isn’t your average hot chocolate 😏…
it’s better. ⭐️

It’s your simple + cozy version made with ingredients you probably already have. 🤍
No powders.
No rules.
Just a warm drink that tastes good and feels good, too.

I love this base because it’s easy to adjust, naturally sweetened, and actually satisfying…especially on those cold days when you want something comforting without overthinking it.

My go-to base:
• 2 cups almond, coconut, or your favorite milk
• ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• ¼ cup maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
• a pinch of sea salt + ~1 tsp vanilla

Warm it up, whisk until smooth, and enjoy. ☕️

If you want to play with it, here are a few add-ins I rotate through depending on the mood:

✨ Cinnamon + nutmeg + ginger (cozy + warm 😌)
✨ Almond butter + almond extract + coconut flakes (creamy & nutty 🙃)
✨ Peppermint extract + dark chocolate shavings (holiday classic 🍫)
✨ Cayenne + cinnamon (Mexican hot chocolate vibes)
✨ Pumpkin pie spice (because why not 😊)
✨ Turmeric + black pepper (grounding + healing)
✨ Orange zest + cinnamon 🍊
✨ Vanilla, Chocolate Mint, or Peppermint Protein Powder .ingredients (for a protein boost 💥)

Mix, match, and make it yours.
It doesn’t have to be perfect to be nourishing.

Which combo sounds the best right now?

P.S. Hey, I’m Kins 👋 I share calm, simple ways to enjoy food and take care of yourself without extremes. You’re always welcome here. 🫶

I’ve been thinking a lot about the girl I used to be and realizing…
she didn’t go anywhere,
she just grew up with me…

She feels the pressure I put on myself.
She hears the way I talk about my body.
She notices when I’m last on my own list.
She remembers when I keep my promises…
and when I break them.

And honestly…
the way I care for myself now is the way I care for her, too.

Not with perfection.
Not with big dramatic changes.
But with small choices that make life feel better…

A little more rest.
A little more nourishment.
A little more gentleness.
A little more honesty.
A little more of me…

Showing up for her helps me show up for the woman I’m becoming. 🤍

What’s one small way you’re taking care of the little child inside you today?

⭐️ Extra challenge: find a picture of when you were little and tape it on your bathroom mirror too as a reminder of who you’re showing up for 💛

P.S. Hey, I’m Kins 🤍
I help women care for the version of themselves they’ve outgrown…and the one they’re becoming. Welcome 🫶

We’ve been taught to fear food…
But it’s not more control that we need,
it’s more trust.

Here are 5 shifts that helped me and my clients finally stop fighting food:

🛑 Ditch the scale
🍫 Add foods you love, not just what’s “allowed”
❌ No more cheat days, you’re not cheating
🧠 Focus on how you feel, not just how you look
👏 Progress > Perfection. Always.

If you’re exhausted by the all-or-nothing cycle…
this is your sign to break it.

🔥 Share this with a friend who’s looking for food freedom too.
P.S. Hey, I’m Kins 👋
I help busy families cut through the “health” noise and build simple, realistic habits that actually fit real life. If you’re new here, welcome!🤍
