This patient is now fully recovered from a deep procedure. We used the , which is very effective at erasing age spots, pigment irregularities and tightening up some of the fine lines and wrinkles. The laser is used to essentially burn off the outer layer of skin to a very precise depth determined by adjustments to the settings I make prior to starting the case.
What skin resurfacing DOES:
1) removes pigment irregularities caused by sun damage
2) tightens up the very tiny fine lines and creases, especially those found around the mouth and eyes
What skin resurfacing DOES NOT Do:
1) lift sagging skin and tissue on the face (jowls, neck, cheeks, brows, etc…)
2) remove bulges or puffiness (eyes, cheeks, etc…)
3) shrink large pores (OK, the Erbium YAG does shrink them a little, but not as much as I’d like)
The laser can be used as a solo procedure, like we did for this patient. Or, it can be added to another procedure that will actually lift sagging tissue or remove bulges. In my office, the most common time to use the laser is at the end of a facelift procedure. Please note that she is not wearing any makeup except mascara and a little makeup and, of course, no photoshopping or other alterations have been made to the photos. Doesn’t her skin look so beautiful!?!?
