Might be the end of an era. Blue Moon Perfume is winding down operations at the Northern California Renaissance Faire. The yearly build on top of crewing for the show is a wee bit much for my ahem, advancing age.
Huge shout out to all who braved the aromatherapy bar over the last few decades to learn new scents, and experience another area of their brain. It was a trip to Spain 2001 that made me branch out a little, and my signature scents were born. Blue Moon Perfume, the distilled essence of exotic Andalucía nights, and La Zahara, the heady fruits of a Spanish Garden. Other places, other travels brought new scents to the table. Apparently, there are fans of these perfumes all over the world, and I rejoice in this shared experience.This art has always been my joy.
Truth be told, the booth as an operation has been my gift to the show. Born on a blue moon in 1992…Many years operated at a dead loss, f I count my labor, then breaking even, and now even a wee bit afloat…I love scent making and curating emotional and psychic space. It is an honor and a privilege to serve, and part of me mourns this live experience. But all things must pass.
