International Society for Burn Injuries (ISBI) is deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, over the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Our thoughts are with all those affected, their families, and the healthcare professionals responding to this devastating event. We stand in full solidarity with our colleagues and partners at the European Burn Association (EBA), who are working closely with local authorities on the ground to manage the medical response.

We acknowledge the effective activation of the EBA and European Community Disaster Response Plan, which has once again demonstrated its critical value in the rapid triage, transfer, and coordinated care of burn survivors across specialized burn centers throughout Europe.

The ISBI leadership remains in close communication with EBA and burn centers across Europe authorities. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to our global burn care community as more information becomes available.

On behalf of ISBI, we reaffirm our commitment to international collaboration, preparedness, and support of our partners in times of crisis.
