UTMB Health will commemorate Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Most UTMB Health clinics, business areas, and administrative offices will close in honor of the holiday.

All UTMB Health urgent care clinics will be open noon- 6 p.m. In addition to walk-in care, the urgent care clinics offer online scheduling.

To serve our patients, UTMB’s hospitals and ERs on the Angleton Danbury, Galveston, Clear Lake and League City campuses are always open.

UTMB Health will celebrate the Winter holidays on Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. Schools, business areas and administrative offices will be closed to allow our staff and students to spend time with their families.

UTMB’s hospitals and ERs on the Angleton Danbury, Clear Lake, Galveston and League City campuses are always open. Select UTMB Health urgent care clinics and primary care sites will feature special holiday hours, and many other UTMB clinics will be open on a modified schedule.

Today, on National Doctors' Day, we honor the hard work, dedication and compassion our physicians demonstrate each day. Her former patient Tina Herring also shares her personal story and how the completion of her reconstruction journey helped in her healing process and feeling whole again.

As we enter into the final days of October, we shine some light on an important final step in the journey of breast cancer survivors who opt for reconstructive services -- ni**le and ar**la tattoos. Offered through the Division of Plastic Surgery, this service brings many patients a level of closure they didn't know they needed.

After Katina Herring was diagnosed with breast cancer, she decided to earn her master’s degree to make sure she had a plan to live. Cancer-free since Nov. 2021 thanks in part to the expert care from UTMB Health, she plans on living forever now.

DYK? Thanks to the Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998, whenever a mastectomy is covered by insurance, so are breast reconstruction and prostheses. Dr. Julie Park, a plastic surgeon and the director of breast reconstruction at UTMB, is passionate about ensuring patients know their options when it comes to reconstruction after breast cancer. She works closely with other members of the UTMB Breast Health team to provide patients like Yotarsha Hill the highest level of care throughout their cancer journey.
