Chillin with my peeps this spring break.

Started the weekend with my allergies revolting, so I made do with some HBO and Netflix and stitching. My husband can’t figure out how I watch tv and do handwork at the same time?! I ask him how he can just sit there and watch something with his hands idle!!! Is this a crafty person thing? Is this an ADHD thing? Is this abnormal?!? Because if I’m not stitching? I’m eating….

Hoping I can work on some Easter projects this week, but not pressuring myself because the weeks until summer break always prove brutal at work!

I’ve been packing up my Valentine’s and rummaging through my holiday bins this week. It hit me that it’s hard to see love and joy these days with all the news barraging us on the daily. However, small encounters have occurred this week at work and home that have made my heart bloom. There IS love and joy, you have to grab them and hold onto them tightly.

This pillow is my newest project. The pattern is Love Note by I bought the pattern in a bundle from made with random scraps and Essex Linen. The backing is Hello Sweetheart by I feel like it really pairs well with my Kiss Kiss pillows from 2015 by

I’m trying to find time to actually blog my newer projects. I forgot how much joy it is to look back on my blog. Albeit, all the work and time doing it is a bit of a drag, but it reminds how much looking back at all my accomplishments bring me joy. 💕

Flotsam and jetsam. My new name for projects made from scraps of another project, but specifically when they are still are from a fabric line, not truly scrappy.

I was thinking about sailing terms the other day because of the Daysail name for this line, and flotsam and jetsam came to mind. Odds and ends. Perfect, right?

The good news is that I finished the EPP shapes for this new project. The bad news is that I made too many triangles and will need to figure out what I’m going to do with the next collection of flotsam and jetsam….

Another project in the works. 😬. In all fairness, it’s a “work in the studio” kinda project, not a “keep my hands busy anywhere” kinda project.

I’m hoping this will be my new toiletry bag. I’ve been thinking about this project for years and I’m hoping I can have it ready for our next trip. I’ve worked out all my design, measurements, and organization. Now to actually make it….I don’t want to jinx it by sharing the date I need it by🤞🏻

We received the worst news last week.

Our family has to say goodbye forever to another child. It’s not my story to tell, but please hug your kids, tell them you love them…hold on to them tight…especially when they are adults.

I had started this butterfly project for a cross-stitch gallery wall that I put together this summer. It was originally for my own sweet Jamie, but now I know it’s for our oldest nephew. He will always be the sweet boy I hugged and loved on for 32 years. RIP cowboy.

Miss me?

Finally decided to end my unexpected, unplanned, extended vacation from social media. Time to get back to posting mediocre content. No reel or fanfare.

Skipper is supervising my current project on this gloomy day. Very pleased with it so far. It’s one of the quilty touches I’m making to our recent bedroom makeover. All the blue green colors are my favorites. Anyone’s else’s?
