Being told to “keep your core tight” can sound helpful—but for many people, especially postpartum parents and active adults, constant bracing creates more problems than it solves.

A strong core works with your breath and pelvic floor. It supports when needed—and relaxes when it’s done.

If you’re dealing with leaking, heaviness, or pain despite “doing everything right,” it may be time for a different strategy.

📍 We provide in-person pelvic floor therapy in Belton, Cedar Park, and Georgetown, TX

Labor isn’t about finding the one perfect position… it’s about having OPTIONS.

Different phases of labor ask for different strategies:
✨ Early labor: rest + stay loose
🔥 Active labor: open + cope + keep moving
💪 Pushing: make space + protect your tissues

Save this post so you have a “menu” of positions when the moment comes.

Want a personalized birth game plan?
We’ll teach you exactly which positions to practice based on your mobility, comfort, and goals—plus breath + pelvic floor coordination for pushing.

Not sure what to wear to pelvic floor therapy? Keep it simple: comfy clothes you can move in and change out of easily. Leggings or sweats + a comfy top is the easiest combo. And if you show up in jeans anyway—no worries. We’ll still make it work.

Pelvic heaviness, pressure, or leaking—especially after lifting or standing—are signals, not something you have to ignore.

For many people, these symptoms aren’t about weakness or needing surgery. They’re often related to how pressure is being managed in the body.

Pelvic floor therapy looks at how your breath, core, and pelvic floor work together during real life—not just give you kegels.

Toddler moms lift all day—kids, car seats, toys, laundry baskets.

Leaking or pelvic heaviness during those lifts is common—but not normal.

The exhale-on-effort cue can help reduce downward pressure and improve support during daily tasks. But if symptoms persist, your pelvic floor may need more than a breathing tip.

Planning an unmedicated labor doesn’t mean you have to suffer.

There are evidence-based, body-supportive ways to manage labor pain — and many of them work best when you practice before contractions start.

Breathing.
Movement.
TENS units.
Water.
Counterpressure.

These tools help calm your nervous system, reduce pelvic floor tension, and support labor progress 🤍

As pelvic floor therapists, we help clients prepare for birth with intention — in our clinics in Cedar Park, Georgetown, and Belton, and through virtual pelvic floor therapy across Texas.

Ever wonder why you leak, brace your body, or feel pressure when you sneeze? 🤧
It all comes down to intra-abdominal pressure — the force created inside your core every time you cough, lift, laugh, or yes… sneeze.

Your pelvic floor and deep core are designed to automatically manage that pressure.
But when they’re out of sync?
➡️ Leaking
➡️ Pelvic heaviness
➡️ Coning/doming
➡️ Back or hip discomfort
can show up fast.

The good news? These symptoms aren’t “just part of getting older” or something you have to live with. With the right pelvic floor therapy and pressure-management strategies, sneezes become a non-event again.

If the “sneeze test” brought up some red flags for you, our team can help you understand what’s going on — and how to fix it.

Serving Cedar Park, Georgetown, Belton, and virtual clients across Texas.

Sneeze and… leak? brace? feel pressure? 🤧

That reaction is your intra-abdominal pressure — and your body might be telling you it needs support.
Your pelvic floor + deep core should automatically manage pressure during sneezing, coughing, lifting, and laughing.

But if things feel “off,” it doesn’t mean you’re weak — it means your system needs better coordination (and yes, it’s very fixable).

If the “sneeze test” feels familiar, pelvic floor therapy can help you rebuild confidence, strength, and control.
Serving clients in Cedar Park, Georgetown, Belton, and virtually across Texas.
