We are members of ~ and proudly support ~ the Aging Life Care Association, a nationwide group that has set standards for the care management profession.

An Aging Life Care Professional (also known as a care manager) is a health and human services specialist who acts as a guide and advocate for families who are caring for older relatives or disabled adults.

The Aging Life Care Professional is educated and experienced in any of several fields related to Aging Life
Care management, including, but not limited to, counseling, gerontology, mental health, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or social work; with a specialized focus on issues related to aging and elder care.

The Aging Life Care Professional assists clients in attaining their maximum functional potential.

The individual’s independence is encouraged, while safety and security concerns are also addressed.

Aging Life Care Professionals are able to address a broad range of issues related to the well-being of their client.

They also have extensive knowledge about the costs, quality, and availability of resources in their communities.
Aging Life Care Professionals become the “coach” and families or clients the “team captain.”

Aging Life Care Professionals are members of the Aging Life Care Association® (ALCA) and differ from Patient Advocates, Senior Advisors, Senior Navigators, and Elder Advocates.

ALCA members must meet stringent education, experience, and certification requirements of the organization, and all members are required to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

📣 PSA

Y’all… I saw a video recently that legit freaked me out. It was made with Google’s new AI tool called Veo 3, and at first glance, it looked completely real. Like, actors, voices, even the background noise—it was all generated by AI. And I thought to myself: If I can be momentarily convinced, imagine how this could negatively impact our older adults.

Technology is moving fast—too fast sometimes—and while it brings innovation, it also opens doors for manipulation. Scammers are getting smarter, and they’re using tools like this to create fake bills, fake calls, even fake people. It’s terrifying.

Now, I’ll be honest: I’m not the most tech-savvy person out here. But what I am good at is assessing, investigating, and discerning. As an Aging Life Care Manager, I help older adults and their families navigate what’s real and what’s risky. Whether it’s a suspicious bill, a confusing email, or a “too good to be true” offer—I’m here to help sort it out.

🛡️ A few quick safety tips I always share:
- Never act out of urgency—scammers thrive on panic.
- Pause and reflect—take a breath before responding.
- Don’t go it alone—ask someone you trust to take a second look.

If you’re caring for an aging loved one, or you are that loved one, know this: you don’t have to navigate this alone. I’m here to help you stay safe, informed, and empowered.

Let’s keep our elders protected—because they deserve nothing less. 💙

This question comes up A LOT!

You're noticing the signs. It's Tuesday, and Dad's Monday meds are still sitting in the pill box. Mom missed her standing hair appointment-she got turned around on a route she's driven for years. These moments may feel small, but they add up. You're seeing the shift. They might not be.

Resistance to help is common, and it's not always about pride. Sometimes it's fear-of losing independence, of being seen as incapable. Sometimes it's a genuine lack of insight into what's changing. Either way, it's tender territory.

Here are the most effective tips I share with families when broaching this topic:

❤️1. Lead with love, not logistics.

Start by expressing care and concern-not a checklist of what's going wrong.

💪🏾2. Empowerment - frame help as a way to stay independent.

Support isn't about taking over-it's about making sure they can keep doing what matters most to them, safely.

📞3. Engage a neutral third party professional.

As an Aging Life Care Manager I can offer guidance to navigate a path forward.

You don't have to navigate this alone.

You care, so let's have a conversation.
