Hannah J. Sedgwick MS T-LMFT
I developed my passion for helping people through therapy by attending therapy myself. I sought therapy at the age of 19 during an ongoing divorce between my parents. This lead to a severe development of anxiety which made it hard to focus on school and compete at the collegiate level for track and field. The help I received left me with a desire to help people and to let them know that they are not alone in the hard times that life can throw their way.
I specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals, couple, and families struggling with family conflict, parenting, child behavioral issues, trauma, and marital distress. I received my undergraduate education through William Jewell College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. My graduate education was obtained through Friends University with a Master of Science in Family Therapy under the instruction the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy’s president elect, Dr. Christopher Habben, PhD, LCMFT. During my graduate program my internship was at the Child Abuse Prevention Association, or CAPA, in Independence, Missouri. At CAPA I worked with children, teens and adults in combinations of individual, couple and family therapy sessions.
