What is a bunion? A bunion is a bone deformity or a deformity at a joint in the foot that causes it. Conservative options are usually a wide toe box shoe and purely for comfort. Surgery is the only way to correct a bunion. There are multiple bunion surgeries! What can orthotics do for you? A custom orthotic is actually a shoe insert that is supposed to either help someone with flat feet to recreate and support the arch; or someone with a normal or high arch to support the arch and reduce pressure points. The entire purpose is to reduce pain and transfer pressure areas to where they should be on the foot!

I’ll be honest I never was an advocate for custom orthotics until I got my own pair and I have had minimal foot pain since. Why do I have Heel pain? It is one of the most common reasons to see a foot and ankle doctor. There are actually multiple different reasons for heel pain, the most common being plantar fasciitis, but have you heard of heel fat pad bursitis, or neuritis of Baxter’s nerve?
