Rhoda Mae Rakes Bright, 90, of Bradfordsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, just one month shy of her 91st birthday. She was born on April 28, 1935, on Rakes Branch in Bradfordsville, Marion County, Kentucky, to the late Neeley Harrison Rakes and Lillian Shrout Rakes.

Rhoda Mae will be remembered most as a caregiver to her family and to anyone in need. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, drawing, and genealogy. She had a great love of animals and could often be caught watching nature documentaries.

She is survived by her brother, Leslie (Barbara) Rakes of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; sister, Lucy Wells of Richmond, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

She is also survived by four children: Alvin Anthony Bright (Susan) of Taiwan, Nathan Bright of Lebanon, Kentucky, Mary Bright Simmons of West Jordan, Utah, and Jennifer Bright of Lebanon, Kentucky; seven grandchildren: Jay Edward Bright and Allison Bright, both of Phoenix, Arizona, Ricky (Amber) Simmons of Riverton, Utah, Lindsay (Joey) Simmons of Draper, Utah, Zachary Simmons of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Cody (Ashley) Cambron and Amber Cambron, both of Springfield, Kentucky; and four great-grandchildren: Archer and Desmond Simmons of Riverton, Utah, Jacob Bright of Phoenix, Arizona, and Colton Cambron of Springfield, Kentucky.

Special friends include Jane and Sam, Rebecca and Bud, Gloria, Frank, and Miss Emerald Spalding.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Bright; brothers James and Bobby Rakes; and sisters Margie Rakes, Jean Rakes McFarland, and Rachel Rakes Perkins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell-Fisher Funeral Home, 491 West Main Street, Lebanon, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Old Liberty Cemetery, Bradfordsville, Kentucky.
