With the exciting addition of Dr. Morgan Fischesser to our practice we are growing! We want to get the word out that we’re looking to add a Clinical Assistant to our amazing team at Girdwood Orthodontics.
We would love the right candidate to join our high-tech, patient-focused orthodontic practice with offices in Middletown, Monroe, and Lebanon. All of our team members rotate between all three locations. This is a full-time position, with hours:
Monday–Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Qualifications:
• Orthodontic or dental assisting experience
• Current Ohio Radiology License
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable working in a faster paced environment

Despite the snow, the Countryside YMCA Indoor Triathlon was great fun and a huge success! Dr. Bart participated, of course, against some serious competition! Thanks to all the staff and volunteers that make this mid-winter activity such a great event year after year! 🏊‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️🏃

So much SNOW!! ❄️☃️🌨️ While everyone is working to dig out of the blizzard of 2026, we are making a plan!!

Girdwood Orthodontics WILL BE OPEN tomorrow, Monday, January 26th but we are delaying our opening until 9:30am to give road crews time to clear the way and our team time to travel to the office.

If you have not been contacted by us already, we plan to see you at your normal, scheduled appointment time tomorrow. If you need to reschedule you can text us at your appointment confirmation text message number or you can even email us at info@girdwoodortho.com. We will be in the office tomorrow at 9:30am and will be able to take phone calls after that time. If you have left a message, please be patient as our team works through responding to messages. We are parents and we understand parents! Appointment scheduling can be a little more complicated for you during the school year. Between classes and practices and other extracurricular activities it feels like we are spinning our wheels!

The best way to get the appointment that works for you is to reschedule your (or your child’s) next appointment before leaving our office. We generally schedule 6-10 weeks out so scheduling before you leave can insure you get the time you need.

Most adjustment appointments can be scheduled in the early morning or after school. For bonding procedures we do these in the morning but can be worked around study halls, breaks, lunches, etc. We work hard to make orthodontics work for you!

Braces Off On Time TIP #2:

Our first tip was to make it to all of your appointments. A second important thing patients can do to stay on pace with their anticipated debond day is WATCH WHAT YOU EAT! Here’s a few tips to remember when eating and drinking with braces:

1. Avoid foods that can break your wires or brackets: chewy foods like bagels, hard rolls, gummy candy🥯🥖🍬; crunchy foods like popcorn or hard chips🍿; sticky foods like caramels and gum🍬; hard foods like nuts, hard pretzels🥜🥨; foods you have to bite into like corn on the cob, apples and carrots🌽🍎🥕.
2. Take the time to chop up hard foods like apples, raw vegetables, crunchy breads, or meat. When eating, take small bites of your food and chew slowly and carefully.
3. It’s also important not to chew or bite down on anything that isn’t food while wearing braces, such as chewing on pencils or pens✏️🖊️, and biting your nails, as it can damage your wires.
4. Stay away from carbonated drinks and sodas🥤. These types of drinks can damage the health of your teeth and prevent them from moving properly while wearing braces.

Meet Rayna! She's in Phase 2 of a 2 Phase treatment. Phase 1, when she was younger, we expanded her upper arch to make more room for her permanent teeth and widen her smile. Now that all her permanent teeth are in it's time for Phase 2. We used a motion appliance to move her molars back and she got braces today to align her teeth and bite! She is beautiful inside and out and will have a stable, healthy smile to last her a lifetime ❤️

First of all, how cute are these two friends who started in braces at the same time?!

Second of all, our are amazing! They look great, they move teeth much more naturally and gently, no need for colored ties and so much easier to keep clean. Adjustments are scheduled every 6-10 weeks so more convenient for busy families. The highest tech brackets in orthodontics today!
