About a year ago, Skip James reached out to me—not for himself, but to help a friend find peace and closure after a loss. That’s just who he was… always thinking of others first.

Then, not long ago, I received a call that felt like a punch to the chest. Mary Kay shared that they had lost Skip.

There are people who come into your life briefly but leave a lasting imprint—and Skip was one of those rare souls. Kind. Gentle. Thoughtful. The kind of friend who stands beside you no matter what. The kind of husband who makes sure everyone is taken care of. The kind of father whose presence still brings peace to his children.

So proud of these boys they fought hard and came out finalist in the tournament. May not of been the result they wanted but they played really good teams, great competition and we showed up and played amazing ball! We are beyond proud of everyone on the team, the coaches and parents who show up w consistency dedication and passion! ❤️🔥🔥🔥.

It’s an honor to watch these boys grow together and in their love for the game ❤️⚾️🧢

We are so incredibly thankful that God chose our family to serve this community with passion and pride for over 40 years. ❤️

At Maggard Memorials, we’ve had the honor of serving more than 12,000 families throughout our community and surrounding areas. That’s 12,000 stories… 12,000 lives… 12,000 opportunities to walk alongside families during some of their most difficult moments.

Inside these walls, we’ve shared tears, laughter, faith, memories, and healing. We’ve had the privilege of lifting burdens, bringing peace, ministering, mentoring, being creative and helping families create something meaningful to honor the ones they love.

But what means the most to us… is YOU.
