info@sarcclebanon.org In 2009, we expanded to serve survivors in Schuylkill County.

The Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center (SARCC), works together with our community to prevent sexual violence and promote healing for those who experience it. Established in 1983, SARCC provides counseling, advocacy, and community action that will prevent the perpetration of sexual violence. Our work will change the culture of the community, with an end result of having a community that is ready to provide affirming, trauma-informed responses to sexual violence and the skills needed to promote resilience and prevent perpetration. The services provided at SARCC are no-cost, and available to community members of all ages, genders, and identities.

For many survivors, the holidays can often bring a mix of complicated emotions. Here are some grounding statements and affirmations to add to your holiday survival kit:

-“I can move through this moment.”
-“My needs are important.”
-“I am allowed to rest.”
-“I am worthy of safety and care.”

These words are here for you whenever you need a pause or a breath. Healing isn’t linear, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

For many survivors, the holidays can bring up overwhelming emotions and even painful memories. Here are a few tools to add to your holiday survival kit:
Plan ahead. Setting intentions for events can help you feel more in control.
Identify your support people. Choose someone you trust to check in with you or be a safe anchor if things get heavy.
It’s okay to say no. Declining an invite isn’t selfish, it’s self-care.
Prioritize self-care. Peace looks unique to you, honor that.
This season doesn’t have to look a certain way. Your comfort, your choices, your healing matters.
