Below is a list of upcoming Volunteer opportunities. If you would like more information, or would like to volunteer for one or more of these events, please respond to certcitrus@gmail.com.

Citrus County Fair: The Sheriff will have a table at the fair to recruit for the Sheriff's office and for volunteers. Date is March 24-29. Shifts will be 3 hours long starting at 1200 running to 2200 on weekdays, and 1000 to 2200 on Saturday. You may volunteer for more than 1 shift.

Recruiting Event at the Board of Realtors Office in Lecanto: This event is Saturday, March 29 from 0900-1400. 2 volunteers are needed for the CERT table, and other volunteers needed for setup, check-in, and parking. The address is 714 S Scarboro Ave, Lecanto.

Mullet Toss: The Homosassa Civic Association is sponsoring a Mullet Toss (yes, the fish), on April 5 at the Homosassa Civic Center, 5530 S Mason Creek Rd, Homosassa, 1000-1600. CERT needs 3-4 Volunteers to staff our spot, recruiting, handing out information, and providing first aid.

The American Red Cross Sound the Alarm: The Red Cross will be installing smoke alarms April 5, at the Leesons Mobile Home Park, 606 Conroy Ave, Inverness. We need 6 volunteers for this event.

A reminder, the Volunteer Luncheon is April 15, at the Citrus Springs Community Center, 1570 W Citrus Springs Blvd, Citrus Springs. You must RSVP no later than March 31 to 352-527-3703

Lastly, a question: Do you as a Volunteer think CERT should participate in the Adopt a Highway program. CERT would be assigned a stretch of roadway to keep clean. CERT would have a sign erected on this stretch of roadway proclaiming CERT has adopted this stretch of road. CERT would have to have a regular work party to clean trash from the roadway. We do not know how often this work party would be needed.

Citrus County Fl. CERT is at the Floral City Strawberry Festival. CERT is providing First Aid, handing out hurricane information, and recruiting new members. Thanks to our Team for what they do.😊

Citrus County CERT has a large quantity of the green CERT vests that are no longer being used. We changed to the Hi-Vis yellow vests. If there is a a new startup CERT that can use them, please contact me at certcitrus@gmail.com. We will be happy to donate these to a new CERT, all that is needed is the shipping costs.
