Carolyn Windhorst, age 78, of Inverness, FL, passed away January 17, 2026, at her home. Carolyn was born on January 14, 1948, in Queens, New York to Andrew and Mary (Hogan) Anselmo. She moved to Citrus County five years ago from West Bury, NY. Carolyn was a retired General Manager for McDonalds and a member of the Catholic faith.
Survived by her son John Anselmo and his wife Robin; one brother, Lenny Anselmo and his wife Linda; three grandchildren, Alyssa Anselmo, Justin Anselmo and Hailey Anselmo.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto, FL.

Eileen Frances Lutz, formally Tibbott, 81, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, in Crystal River, Florida. Born on November 19th, in Sturgis, Michigan, Eileen lived a life marked by dedication to her family, work, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Eileen began her life in the heart of Michigan and carried with her the values of hard work and compassion throughout her years. She built a meaningful career as a billing specialist in the medical field, where her attention to detail and commitment to helping others left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.
Eileen's happiest moments were surrounded by family and friends, attending gatherings and creating lasting memories.
Eileen is lovingly remembered by her husband of 14 years, Roger H. Lutz; her son, Matthew G. Stanard & his wife Kathryn; and daughters Catherine E. Taylor and Amy Flint. She also shared a close bond with her stepdaughters Sheri Blough & her husband Ken; and Tandra Amos & her husband Charles. Eileen took great pride in being a grandmother and had 5 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gail and Wanda Tibbott; her first husband Ronald G. Stanard; her brother, Tim Tibbott; and stepson Michael Lutz.
Eileen found great pleasure in life's simple treasures. She enjoyed crocheting intricate patterns with care and creativity, playing cards with friends during lively gatherings, and doting on her beloved pugs who were constant companions. Her life was filled with laughter and warmth as she spent cherished time with those she loved most.
Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched, with kindness, in every gesture and strength in every challenge faced.
Private cremation is under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, FL. A memorial service will be held 02/15/2026 at Crystal River Villages clubhouse to honor Eileen's life.
May her memory bring comfort to those who know and loved her.

Dorothy Mae Johns, 91, entered into heaven on January 28, 2026. She was born in Denver, CO on April 30, 1934 to Francis and Margaret Bridgewater. She grew up in a home filled with love and love for our Lord and Savior. She became pen pals with Bill Johns while he was serving in the Navy during the Korean War. They wrote to each other for two years until Bill took leave while in CA and drove to Denver to meet Dot in person. After a two-week courtship, they married. They settled in Bill’s hometown of Sanford, FL and started a family shortly after. They would have three children. Judy, Billy, and Loriann. Bill’s work brought them to Crystal River in 1969 and called it home since. They were married for 70 years until Bill’s death last year. She devoted her entire life to God and was a long-time member of Seven Rivers Church and stayed active with her life group and Bible study. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, brothers John and Bob, her son Billy and daughter Loriann Stamper. Survivors left to cherish memories of her are, daughter Judy (Bruce) Haag, sister Marnie Allen, of Denver, CO, 3 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved, and all of her church family and many friends. She will join Bill at his burial site in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Family will receive friends for visitation from 10AM-11AM, Monday, February 2, 2026, at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto with a funeral service beginning at 11AM. Burial will take place at 11AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

Mark David Stapels, Sr., age 78, of Crystal River, FL, passed away January 23, 2026, at his home under the loving care of his family.
Mark was born on February 22, 1947, in Detroit, MI to Louis and Lillian Stapels. During his high school years at South Lake H.S., he membered in eight extracurricular clubs including the debate and forensic teams. Mark continued his outgoing nature at Eastern Michigan University, filling the airwaves of WEMU college radio as a radio disc jockey, before obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He became a high school teacher, educating high school students in English and Social Studies, in addition to coaching the girl's basketball team. Mark then transitioned careers, establishing Brothers Industries, an automotive tool and die manufacturing business, growing it into a 200 plus strong workforce serving regional and global customers. During this time, Mark's innovative designs and subsequent work led to the awarding of multiple U.S. patents that would benefit the US auto industry. Following a distinguished business career, Mark sought warmer weather in Arizona and Stuart, Florida. His drive continued, taking on multiple start up businesses, and joining the Rotary International, for which he would be recognized as the Rotarian of the month. In 2024, Mark moved to Citrus County. During his life, he was an accomplished boater, traveled to five continents, and enjoyed dancing, cooking, and the water. Most of all, Mark loved his family, and shared with them his knowledge and love of life.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brother, David Stapels.

Survived by his soul mate, Sue McCollough; four children, Andrea Casadei and her husband Robert, Mark D Stapels, II. and his wife Andi, Andrew Stapels and his wife Leigh, Nicholas Stapels and his wife Renee; siblings, Marsha Coddington, Gregory Stapels, Mary Thompson, Matthew Stapels and his wife Stacy, Rochelle Gauthier, Louis Stapels and his wife Lynn; five grandchildren, Mark D Stapels, III, Gabrielle Stapels, Luigi Casadei, John Casadei and Lillian Stapels.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto, FL. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Crystal River Community Church.

Robert T Hand, Jr., age 77, of Homosassa, FL passed away January 26, 2026, at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, FL. Robert was born on September 5, 1948, in Manhattan, NY to Robert T and Catherine (Ives) Hand. Robert was a retired Service Manager in the Automotive Industry and he was an Army Veteran.
Survived by his wife, Jamie C Williams; four children, Jessica Hand Kiernan and her husband Corey, Robert “Rob” T Hand and his wife Denise, Christopher Hand and his fiancée Jaunna, and Marissa Williams; three sisters, Barbara Allison, Gina Spillane and her husband Kevin, and Catherine Shultis; one brother, Larry Hand and his wife Patty; five grandchildren, Austin Hand, Kendall Kiernan, Jaylin Williams, Lylah Corretje, and Harper Cuckney.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph Wiley Cole Jr. on November 26, 2025 at Tampa General Hospital Emergency Room of Tampa, FL. He was born on July 17, 1979 to Joseph Wiley Cole and Lori Kaye Udy, in Ogden, UT . He was 46 years of age at the time of his passing.
Joseph Had a passionate drive towards working with others, and enjoyed his most recent field of work as a Youth care worker. He has worked a number of different fields, including Team shift leader, forklift operator and store manager and was working towards a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, as he always had a drive to learn new things. His joy in helping others was infectious, motivating others to be the best that they can be.
He truly enjoyed his time with his family and friends, as well as mudding in his Jeep, fishing, and video games. He loved sharing his passion for video games with his brothers, bringing them closer together through a shared interest of captivating stories.
A quote that Joseph shared once that truly showed his helpful nature, “May the best of your today's be the worst of your tomorrows.” A great expression that he lived by, hoping that each day will always be better than the last, no matter what hardships we experience in life.
Joseph is survived by his brothers Brian Stanford Cole, Nicholas Paul Cole, and Christopher Noel Benard, as well as his various aunts and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Wiley Cole and Lori Kaye Udy.
Donations to The American Heart Association, in honor of Joseph's memory, are welcome.
