In 1970, local journalist David S. Arthurs captured the spirit of the Key Training Center in his piece “Remarkable Key Training Center: Citrus County’s Favorite Year-Round Philanthropy.” More than half a century later, that same spirit continues to thrive!

From its humble beginnings in borrowed buildings, powered by volunteer service and compassion, the Key Center has grown into a cornerstone of our community—empowering adults with developmental disabilities to live, work, and thrive with dignity and purpose.

Now celebrating 60 years of service, the Key Training Center remains a symbol of inclusion and generosity, honored six years running as Citrus County’s Best of the Best Non-Profit Organization.
