We are beyond grateful to our incredible Lee’s Summit community for voting us, Maternal Mental Health KC & The Holding Space KC Best in Therapy & Counseling! 🩵

When we opened our doors here in January 2025, we never could have imagined receiving this kind of recognition so soon. It’s truly an honor to serve and support families through the perinatal journey—creating a space where healing, connection, and understanding can grow.

Thank you for welcoming us so warmly and trusting us with your stories. Here’s to continuing to build a compassionate community together.

💙 Baby Blues vs PPD vs PPA: Know the Difference 💙

Not every mood change after birth is the same:

🔹 Baby Blues: Mild mood swings, tears, irritability; usually resolves within 2 weeks.
🔹 Postpartum Depression (PPD): Persistent sadness, hopelessness, low energy, loss of interest; can last months without treatment.
🔹 Postpartum Anxiety (PPA): Intense worry, racing thoughts, panic attacks; can interfere with daily life.

Recognizing the signs early is key to recovery. Mental Illness Awareness Week is the perfect time to learn, reach out, and support each other.

*️⃣ Perinatal mental health disorders also include OCD, Bipolar Mood Disorders, PTSD, and Psychosis. *️⃣

What an exciting year this has been! Starting a small Perinatal Co-Op, The Tea House Therapy & Wellness, has allowed me to work alongside fellow Perinatal Mental Health specialists in our sweet and cozy little space downtown Lee's Summit.

I'm in network with BCBS, Anthem, United/Optum and have some availability to accept new clients. If I'm not in your insurance network, I would love to connect you with another Perinatal Therapist at The Tea House Therapy & Wellness that does!

We're all moved in to our new space in Lee's Summit and just so excited to share what we've been up to!

Say hi to our Therapist crew, Cassie, Taylor and Rachel! We can't wait to start meeting our new neighbors and business owners in the community. We're getting settled here in Lee's Summit and ready to start introducing ourselves.
