Today our residents planted a variety of seeds that we will transplant into our garden beds when the weather warms up. We planted beautiful flowers, watermelon, pumpkins, and all the ingredients for a fresh salad—lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and more! 🥗🍉🎃
We’re excited to watch these little seeds grow and can’t wait to see our garden come to life this season. Gardening days are always a favorite around here! 🌿☀️

This week in History Club, we celebrated Black History Month in a very special way!
We discussed some of the incredible African-American inventors and their inventions, & even had hands on props to bring history to life! It was amazing to see how many everyday items were shaped by brilliant minds throughout history. We also talked about historical trailblazers such as Condoleezza Rice, Barack Obama, Harriet Tubman, Kamala Harris, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King Jr., discussing their courage, leadership, and the difference they made in history.

This month, our Travel Club is exploring the beautiful country of Japan!🪭 We’ve been learning about the country’s culture, traditions, landmarks, & history. Of course, no trip would be complete without tasting the local cuisine! Our Culinary Club has been preparing & tasting a variety of Japanese inspired recipes, such as Japanese Clear Soup & Sushi Rolls 🍣🥢
Our favorite part? Wearing the Japanese headband called the “hachimaki”! Which symbolizes determination, courage and effort during challenging tasks🇯🇵

We took a trip down to Union Station Kansas City to experience Titanic The Exhibition 🚢

Congratulations to Kaira- our "Great 8 Champion" for the month of January!January’s Great 8 word was Purpose-Driven. Kaira was nominated by her peers because of the way she interacts with our residents, and how she is willing to help in other departments because she is a team player.
Kaira has worked at Silverado Lee’s Summit for almost ONE year! 👏🏼 Outside of work, she likes to hang out with her nephew, friends, sister and boyfriend.
Kaira was also just recently promoted to a Lead Caregiver!
