URGENT: THE FIGHT ISN'T OVER!
The Senate has passed the bill...now it's in the hands of the House. This may be the most important call you ever make. We still have time to SAVE H**P, but only if every voice is heard.
The Senate has passed a government-funding package by a 60-40 vote and buried inside are devastating h**p restrictions. Now the fight moves to the House of Representatives, and this may be the most important call you ever make.
Earlier this fall, nearly 30 bipartisan House members told leadership this kind of h**p language was a non-starter. The House is our last line of defense, and your voice can still make the difference. Please contact your U.S. House Representative today and urge them to VOTE NO on any funding bill that includes the McConnell-Harris h**p restrictions. Time is running out — the House could vote at any moment. We still have time to SAVE H**P.
CALL TO ACTION: WE MUST ACT NOW!!!
We need every Missouri h**p supporter to take immediate action. Contact your U.S. Representative today and urge them to vote NO on any government funding bill that includes the McConnell-Harris h**p restrictions. Your voice could make the difference. When you call or email, here’s a sample script you can use:
As your constituent, I urge you to vote NO on the government funding bill containing the McConnell-Harris h**p restrictions. While the Senate advanced this devastating bill, the House STILL has the power to stop these industry-killing restrictions that would harm our nation’s h**p farmers, small businesses, and the millions of Americans who depend on legal h**p products.
The Senate vote is NOT the end of this fight. The House must still act – and it’s time for a full-court press to protect the h**p industry.
Nearly 30 bipartisan House members, including House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, already told leadership this language is a nonstarter. National polling from President Trump's own pollsters shows 72% of voters – including 77% of Republicans – support regulation over prohibition.
The McConnell-Harris restrictions would:
-Eliminate legal h**p products that consumers depend on
-Destroy legitimate businesses built on compliance with federal law
-Put the livelihoods of thousands of American farmers at risk
-Drive consumers to unregulated, unsafe alternatives
-The h**p industry has continued to offer comprehensive safety regulations.
Instead of restrictions that devastate this industry, I urge you to support responsible regulations that keep consumers safe while preserving the success of the 2018 Farm
Bill:
-Age restrictions limiting the sale and possession of h**p products to adults 21 & up
-Mandatory manufacturing practices & independent third-party laboratory testing to ensure safety
-Uniform labeling requirements that allow consumers to make informed choices
-Packaging standards to eliminate “look-a-likes” that confuse adults and attract minors
These common-sense measures will preserve American jobs, protect consumers, and maintain a legal, regulated h**p industry without destroying the livelihoods of American farmers and small businesses who invested in h**p under the promise of the Farm Bill.
I urge you to vote NO on any government funding bill containing the McConnell-Harris h**p restrictions. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from your office.
