How will you be mindful during our Fall Break?

Try These 4 Mindful, Centering Practices to Reset:

🍁If you’re in a cooler area with changing foliage step into the outdoors for a walk or some fresh air. Notice a color you see on every exhale.

🌬️ Pause to notice 10 exhales. You’re already exhaling, just pause to notice! What are the sounds you hear with you in the present moment?

🎶 Find a new song to cue your relaxation response. I keep a Calming playlist to turn on when I want to relax or when traffic is stressing me out. Link sound with your choice to relax.

🛏️ Place your hands, or a small pillow or stuffed animal, on your belly and breathe deeply to fall asleep. Long exhales help us shift into a relaxed state.

We’re ready to relax! Join us at on Monday October 20 for a rejuvenating Mindfulness Clinic in the studio!

☕️ We start with (optional) tea at 6:30pm to begin to unwind.

We’ll settle into our space on chairs, yoga mats or yoga balls for class at 6:45pm. Bring a sweatshirt or cozy blanket to cover up as you’ll cool down in your relaxed state.

I’ll guide a centering that feels grounding, breath work that calms the mind, mindfulness techniques to aid focus, guided relaxation to release pain, and guided visualization to shift into positive perspective.

Class fee is $15

Members can RSVP in the app
Non-Members can call Method to register

Mindfulness is meant to be shared!

I had the pleasure of passing on peaceful practices to the Lane’s Mill Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution at their first meeting of the season.

Appropriately 30 hard working women paused their volunteer work to gather in community and practice presence.

These life-long learners were eager to learn about mindfulness and meditation!

We used seashells to anchor our awareness in the present. I shared some basics of mindfulness, then guided a practice of centering, breath work and guided visualization.

Every participant was encouraged to make the practice feel safe and comforting…which can feel daring to do when we’re in a group.

In just 20 minutes this high-energy group had drawn their attention inward, and emerged feeling restored!

When I tell you these women deserve a break - I’m not kidding! They work hard to support their local community, active service members and veterans as stewards of our country. Their commitment to offer assistance and spread gratitude is a practice of compassion in action.

It was a full-circle moment for me…

As a former DAR Good Citizen Scholarship winner from the state of Rhode Island I was happy to share skills 33 years later. I saved my original DAR pins in a box of high school nostalgia.

Special thanks to Lane’s Mill Regent, Cylvia Toy, for your generous gifts of a new DAR Medal of Appreciation and a 250th Anniversary pin to add to my collection from the ‘90’s, this lovely certificate and more. Thank you Vice Regent Keshia Young for bringing mindfulness and meditation to your community. You made this happen!

Meet me at to change the way you feel in minutes!

Life is busy and full, but it can (and should) feel manageable.

Our monthly in-person clinics start September 22 at 6:45pm. You’ll feel the benefits immediately and will feel motivated to continue your practice.

All are welcome with an RSVP, $15 per session.

Our Mindfulness Clinic kicks off with an optional cup of tea at 6:15pm to help us begin to rest and feel connected.

We’ll stretch and settle into seats or yoga mats for a guided practice of breath work, mind-clearing exercises and guided visualization.

You’ll leave the session with a deeper awareness of your inner resources and unburdened by stress.
