Back in Clermont… nostalgic visit to the Hook street office.
Did you know I started the practice in August 2003? I was very pregnant with my first child and had a tiny shoebox of an office in the historic downtown Clermont area. South Lake Hospital wasn’t even delivering babies yet!
Once MaryBeth Lewis-Boardman joined the practice, things grew very quickly, and we eventually merged with Womens Care Florida as a way to add more insurance contracts, improve staff benefits, and provide better delivering options, like Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies.
But big business owning medical practices adds several layers of middle management and red tape, with a focus on profits instead of individualized care.
Having BOTH options available will cover most medical needs (insurance, expensive diagnostic devices, lots of locations) as well as personal care with ease of access and transparency.
I’m happy to be back to the first part of my healthcare chapter! (I now offer the personalized care and not the big business kind).
