So many women have been told, “you just need to lose weight.”
But what if that’s not the full story?
Lipedema is a chronic condition that affects how fat is distributed in the body, most commonly in the legs and sometimes the arms. It almost always affects women and is often misunderstood or completely missed.
Common signs:
• Symmetrical fat in the legs that doesn’t respond to diet or exercise
• Pain, tenderness, or heaviness in the legs
• Easy bruising
• A smaller waist with disproportionate lower body
• Feet usually not affected
This is not about lack of discipline.
This is not “just weight gain.”
This is a medical condition.
If you’ve felt like your body isn’t responding the way it “should,” I see you. And more importantly, there may be a real reason why.
