Some of the strongest moms I work with
are also the ones quietly wondering if they’re doing it right

You’re not behind
You’re just in it

In the feeding
In the recovery
In rebuilding strength
In figuring out your energy
In trying to find balance again
In figuring out - ‘what the heck’

There’s so much pressure to “figure it out”
and not enough space to just be supported through it

What I’ve learned is that most moms don’t need more information: They need the right kind of support at the right time

And sometimes just someone to say
you’re actually doing better than you think.

You don’t notice it day to day.

You notice it when everything starts to feel harder than it should.

Less energy.
Less patience.
More effort just to move through your day.

And in motherhood, that matters.

Because it’s not just about you…
it’s about how you show up for them, too.

Over time, it’s not just how you feel,
it’s what your body can handle.

This isn’t about doing everything perfectly.

It’s about not letting your future self carry the weight of what you ignore right now.

Real Mom Moment 🩷

This is what I mean when I say support doesn’t stop after the newborn stage.

From prenatal conversations to navigating supply, to eventually weaning… your journey deserves support the entire way through.

What once feels overwhelming can become manageable and even enjoyable with the right guidance.

Full Review:
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Anna at A Path Forward. From the very beginning—before my daughter was even born—she made such a lasting impact on my breastfeeding journey. I remember telling her at our first meeting that I didn’t think breastfeeding was going to work for me. I had exclusively pumped with my first child and was fully prepared to go straight to formula this time around. Regardless of my thought process & feelings I never felt judged & she always made me feel comfortable.

Thanks to Anna’s incredible knowledge, encouragement, and support, everything turned out completely differently—and so much better than I ever expected. She helped me navigate challenges with ease, especially getting my oversupply under control quickly and comfortably. What once felt overwhelming became manageable and even enjoyable.

Now, my little girl is two weeks shy of turning two years old and we’re just now going through the weaning process—something I truly NEVER thought I’d say. Her guidance gave me confidence, peace of mind, and a completely different experience this time around.

If you’re on the fence about breastfeeding or feeling unsure, I cannot recommend A Path Forward enough. Anna is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly life-changing in what she does.

If you’re breastfeeding and trying to take care of your body, it’s not about doing more, it’s about doing it differently.

A few things I always remind moms:

• You don’t need intense workouts to start feeling better
• Undereating will hurt your energy and milk supply more than it helps
• Your body needs support, not stress, in this phase
• Consistency matters way more than intensity right now

This is where a lot of moms get stuck. It feels like it has to be all or nothing, when really it’s about finding what actually works for this season.

Most moms come to me for lactation support, but this is usually where things start to connect on a bigger level.

If you’re feeling stuck in this phase, this is exactly what I help with. 🩷

Today is about celebrating women.

The mothers.
The women who hope to be someday.
The women who have chosen different paths.
The women who lead, support, build, and show up for the people around them every day.

As I raise a daughter, I think a lot about the women she will grow up watching and learning from. The ones who show her what strength, kindness, resilience, and confidence look like in real life.

I’m incredibly grateful for the strong women in my life that she gets to look up to.

Strong girls start with strong women.

Today is IBCLC Day, and I’m taking a moment to celebrate a profession that means so much to me.

Becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant was one of the most challenging and meaningful steps in my career. It represents hundreds of clinical hours, extensive education, and a deep commitment to supporting families through one of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life.

But more than the credential, it represents the work.

The quiet moments helping a baby latch for the first time.
Supporting a mother through tears, exhaustion, and doubt.
Troubleshooting the things no one talks about.
And celebrating the victories that sometimes feel small but are actually huge.

Breastfeeding doesn’t always come easily. And no mother should feel like she has to figure it out alone.

To the families who have trusted me to walk alongside them in their feeding journey, thank you. It is an incredible privilege.

And to my fellow IBCLCs everywhere, thank you for the work you do every single day.

Today is World Compliment Day and I want to say something that not enough mothers hear.

You are doing an incredible job.

Whether you are pregnant and navigating all the unknowns, newly postpartum and healing while caring for a tiny human, pumping at work between meetings, rebuilding your strength one session at a time, or simply trying to make it through the day… you are showing up.

Your body is strong.
Your effort matters.
Your presence is enough.

Motherhood is not easy. It stretches you physically, mentally, and emotionally. And still, you keep going.

If no one has told you lately, I am proud of you.
