Brisk mornings and blue skies! Everything is great at the Washington International Horse Show Regional Show in Upperville. Come out for the great people, horses, shopping, food, and show.

It's SAFETY FIRST with Total Equine Veterinary Associates and Always There Horse Care, LLC at the ready. Absolutely my pleasure to be the veterinarian for this iconic event. It really makes going to next week's National event in Maryland even better.

Well done to Lara and all the show organizers, judges, ground crews, and volunteers. Everything is happening very smoothly and professionally. Really love the 2nd giant jumbo screen. And we're finishing at reasonable times!

Here are some of the announcements you'll hear throughout this event. Come out to hear the others...

"Total Equine Vets Horse Show Tip #1. If your horse rides fussy with its head high in the arena, shakes its head side to side, or resists the bit, it probably needs a veterinarian dentist to examine its teeth. Call TEVA for an oral exam and corrective dentistry."

"Total Equine Vets Horse Show Tip #6. If your horse swishes its tail in the arena, feels stiff in the back, is anxious or girthy, has lead change issues, runs out, or refuses fences, it likely has back pain. Call TEVA for a back assessment, SI injection, Shockwave, acupuncture, massage, or Chiro."

"Total Equine Vets Horse Show Tip #9. If your horse is a hard keeper, frequently seems mildly colicky, doesn't drink a lot of water, grinds its teeth, or is girthy, your horse may have stomach ulcers. Call TEVA for on-farm gastroscopy - it's the only way to know for sure."

Whether it's cloudy or clear weather, the Morven Park International Equestrian Center Fall Horse Trials is a great event for both participants and spectators.

Super-sized and even better than last year, the grounds, the food trucks, the sponsors, the gauntlet of shopping, the VIP tents and amenities, the swag, the horses, the people medical crews, the athletes, the volunteers, the horse ambulances, and the veterinarians have all been nothing short of perfect.

Total Equine Veterinary Associates is proud to be a part of this inaugural US Equestrian Open with a huge turnout for the 3* and 4* competition.

The horses remain safe and without much incident as the 1* and 2* cross-country is wrapping up today and the show soon focuses on a nail-biting Show Jumping finale starting at 12pm. See the picture below for the jumping line up.

It's a beautiful day in Upperville! Privileged to be the Equine Veterinarian for this prestigious horse show.

The grounds are immaculate. The food is great. And the staff and management are running a superb show. It's perfect!

Total Equine Veterinary Associates is both proud to sponsor and proud to serve.

As usual, knock wood, no need for my services. So it's paperwork time in my mobile office, with the dogs, catching up on veterinary journals and some thought provoking learning/reading.

And a big shout out to the horses and competitors. With your support, great events like this are possible. I love walking around and seeing all of you. I'm so proud of you and your riding accomplishments.

As the founder of Total Equine Veterinary Associates, Dr. Jay Joyce brings decades of experience, leadership, and innovation to the practice. A 2003 graduate of the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, he launched TEVA in 2010 with a clear mission: provide modern, mobile, high-level equine care with a personal touch.
