The past couple of weeks have been hectic as we prepare for Christmas at the Men’s Residence. One afternoon, I was sitting in my office with gift receipts spread across the desk and Christmas cookies stacked wherever they would fit—trying to wrap up the year and catch my breath.
At that moment, I received a message from the wife of one of our former graduates named Eric. https://www.christiancarecenter.org/post/but-god-1

At Together at Home, we believe siblings belong together. Too often, children entering foster care are separated from their brothers and sisters due to limited placement options. Our home exists to change that story—providing a safe, loving environment where sibling groups can stay connected and thrive.

A few weekends ago, something powerful happened at the Christian Care Center Men’s Retreat—God moved in a way that changed lives.
The theme, drawn from Colossians 3:1, was a call to rise: “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above.” It wasn’t just a verse—it became a reality. Men laid down guilt, shame, and old habits, and walked away with freedom in their eyes and fire in their hearts.
We witnessed breakthroughs. Walls came down. Chains broke. Testimonies flowed, prayers were answered, and brotherhood deepened. One of the most moving moments came from a young boy whose father completed our program years ago. Tomorrow, many families may struggle to put a hot meal on the table. If you’re in the Leesburg area, please remember: every day at 4:30 PM, the Christian Care Center’s Dinner on the Patio program serves a free hot meal to anyone in need at 1309 High Street #105. You can enjoy your meal on our patio or take it to go. On Sundays, meals are served at 1:00 PM.
The only requirement: you must be present for a plate (for example, if you need four meals, bring four people).
Please share this and help spread the word—no one should go to bed hungry.
If you’d like to support this ministry, you can give by selecting the Feed the Hungry: Daily 4:30pm Meal at the link below:

We are excited to announce the upcoming opening of Together at Home, a new children's home at the Christian Care Center, in partnership with LSF. This home is designed to provide safety, support, and a true sense of belonging to children who need it most. Over two decades ago, while serving as a minister of the staff at a church in Georgia, Tony Hoffman, Executive Director, first encountered the Christian Care Center. At the time, his church was exploring the idea of launching a food pantry ministry, and they were seeking wisdom and guidance. That search led them to Leesburg, where they sent a team to learn from the Christian Care Center’s Benevolence ministry. Lately, a beautiful trend has emerged at the Samaritan Inn. Over the past few months, I’ve received photos of keys—not just any keys, but the keys to new homes and fresh starts. These images symbolize success, marking the end of a journey filled with faith, perseverance, and daily commitment to growth.

About Us

The Christian Care Center is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. It was founded in 1985 by the membership of First Baptist Church of Leesburg, Florida. but is now a community effort of “Meeting Needs and Sharing Christ” in Leesburg, Lake County and surrounding areas. The church owns the property and leases it to the CCC each year where it is operated as a separate corporation.

First Baptist’s continued partnership has been invaluable for the Christian Care Center, providing a steady stream of volunteers, donors, people who are willing to give clients a job or to rent housing to them once they complete the program and in many other ways. However, the legal and physical distinction between the church and the CCC has been helpful in many ways over the years as the CCC is committed to bringing all areas of our community together to help those in need. We bring together local businesses, churches, schools, government agencies, law enforcement officials and civic organizations to make a large impact in our community.

Our founder is Dr. Charles Roesel. Dr. Roesel is Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church Leesburg. More than 7,000 people were baptized during his 29 years there. Before that, he was pastor of two other churches in Florida. Today, he serves as a Presidential Ambassador for the North American Mission Board and preaches and teaches all over the world. His signature contribution to Southern Baptist life was the concept of Ministry Evangelism. In short, he encourages people to take seriously Jesus’ commands in Matthew 25:31-46. That passion led his people to start more than 70 ministries at FBC Leesburg and continues to inspire church leaders to reach out to the poor in Jesus’ name. When he is not traveling to a speaking engagement, Pastor Charles lives on a ranch outside Bushnell, Florida with his wife, Edna Sue.
