HealthWorks for Northern Virginia is grateful to share that our organization has received a $50,000 grant from the Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA).

This funding will support HealthWorks’ transportation assistance programs, which helps uninsured patients get to and from medical appointments, reducing no-shows, strengthening continuity of care, and removing transportation as a barrier to accessing essential health services.

We’re thankful for VCHA’s partnership and continued commitment to improving access to care for communities across Virginia.

Love is in the air at HealthWorks this Valentine's Day. Our Employee Advisory Committee (EAC) organized its third annual Lollipop Gram fundraiser. Staff at all HealthWorks locations shared in the love by sending each other heart-warming messages and lollipops. The EAC will use these funds to plan events throughout the year.

HealthWorks centers in Reston, Sterling, and Sully will be closed on Monday, February 16, in observance of Presidents’ Day.

Our centers in Leesburg and Herndon will remain open with normal operating hours.

All centers will resume full operations on Tuesday, February 17.

This program is designed to strengthen community leaders by equipping them with the tools and mindsets they need to create lasting impacts on their organization and beyond. We are grateful to the Loudoun Chamber for fostering the ideals needed to create compassionate, diverse, and culturally competent business leaders in the region.

Meet Dental Hygienist Judith Hampson! She’s been a dental hygienist for more than 50 years. She’s been with HealthWorks for eight years, and she comes to work every day with a smile on her face. Her favorite thing about her role at HealthWorks is the number of hugs she receives from grateful patients and knowing she is able to help them meet their needs. If she wants you to remember one thing after stepping out of her chair, it’s floss (correctly) and make sure you come to us (of course).

A DMV native, Judy says she gets her daily positivity from the “blessings given to her in life, especially her family.” One thing she loves about the Northern Virginia area is its diversity and what you can learn about other people and cultures.

Yesterday, HealthWorks CEO Dr. Tonya Adkins joined forces with Courtney Rice, CEO of the Northern Virginia Health Foundation, for a presentation on in our region to the Inclusive Leadership Institution program at Leadership Fairfax. This program expands equity in and community organizations through a deeper understanding of historical foundations, current systems, and a commitment to creating open and compassionate leaders. Dr. Adkins shared information about the role that Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) play in our health ecosystem.
