Meet Caryl, the heart (and humor) behind Paperback Counseling. 🤍
Caryl isn’t your typical therapist. She’s real, grounded, and meets you where you are… messy, hopeful, healing, or somewhere in between. A clinical mental health counselor and certified family life educator, Caryl helps people reconnect with themselves, their relationships, and their sense of peace. Her approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and practical — rooted in real life, not perfection. Outside of work, she’s happiest in the mountains, her garden, or surrounded by music and family… the things that keep her grounded and grateful. 🌿

At the end of this month, thanksgiving weekend, I write, I sit, I set my December intentions, hesitate, I wonder.
I am a warrior to write.

The book must be written, as my soul cannot be silent.

Tanked

Be who you are. No one can be me nor you.
I don't long to be a fish in a tank.
Open the door, open the ocean.
See like you are blind. See death, see fears, see love.
The confusion is what is mindful and what is others to take? What's been inherited and what is my part. I often took on others discouragement or displacement or difficulties on as a child. But now as an adult, I continually work on my own part in my emotions, burdening others emotions is not in my wheelhouse.

Set your intention to end a chapter, a year, give grace to self like the clouds give wind to the leaves. Let them go.
