How did the family let it get this bad?
Many people ask this question when they see our videos.
It’s a good question.
And there are also many valid answers.
Squalor and hoarding situations are very complicated.
Most people living in these conditions aren’t asking for help because they’re ashamed, or because they actually feel comfortable in this environment.
If you have family living in these situations, then you know the solution is not so simple.
The blame game gets us nowhere.
Education, understanding and compassion are much more helpful.
