Five Counties Nursing Home is so excited to invite our residents, families, and community to a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt celebration! 🐣💐

Join us for an afternoon of laughter, connection, and springtime joy as we celebrate the season together. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with loved ones, make memories, and enjoy some festive fun right here at Five Counties! 💛

We have a great lineup of activities planned, including:

🍀 A Lucky Day at Five Counties! 🍀

Today was a fun and meaningful day as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day while also participating in Scrubs Camp / Camp Med in Lemmon!

Five Counties had the pleasure of partnering with Northeast SD AHEC to help host this great event and introduce students to careers in healthcare. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout from local students who were eager to learn and participate in hands-on activities.

Throughout the day, students rotated through 7 different speakers and stations, learning about various roles in healthcare and getting a glimpse into what it’s like to work in the field. Our team had a blast connecting with the students and sharing a little bit about what we do every day to care for our residents.

Back at the facility, our residents also enjoyed the holiday spirit with a fun St. Patrick’s Day Bingo, full of laughs, a little friendly competition, and plenty of lucky moments! 🍀

Events like this are so important for inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals, and we are grateful to be part of it!

💙 Social Services Month Spotlight 💙

This month we are celebrating Social Services Professionals, and we want to give a very special shout-out to our incredible Social Services Director, Lisa Shockley!

Lisa plays such an important role here at Five Counties. She is always there for our residents and families — whether it’s lending a listening ear, offering support during difficult moments, or simply bringing comfort with a kind smile.

But Lisa’s impact goes far beyond her title. You’ll often find her helping with events, capturing memories around the facility, making people laugh, or even sitting down at the piano to bring a little music and joy to our residents. 🎹

Her compassion, creativity, and dedication help make Five Counties feel like home. We are so grateful for everything she does to support our residents, families, and staff every single day.

To Our Families and Community ❤️

With some illness circulating in our community, we kindly ask that if you are not feeling well, please postpone your visit until you are feeling better before coming to the facility.

As an added precaution, we are also asking visitors to wear a mask while inside the building during this time.

Today we had the pleasure of learning Cyanotype printing from Shasta Alexander made possible thru Grand River Arts Council and Creative Aging (formerly known as Art for Life). The residents enjoyed learning and being part of the process. These pieces and others will be available to view at our first ever Five Counties Art Show coming in May.

💚🍳 Green Eggs & Ham Day at Five Counties Nursing Home! 🍳💚

Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss Week in style with Green Eggs & Ham Day, and our team did not disappoint! Staff showed up decked out in green while enjoying a little mid-day pick-me-up. ☕💚

Our break room was buzzing with a coffee bar, dirty soda bar, and delicious cinnamon rolls — the perfect treat to keep everyone energized and smiling throughout the day.

We are so grateful for this amazing team who works so hard every day to care for our residents. Moments like these remind us how fun it can be to take a break, connect, and celebrate together!
