🍁🦃 Happy Thanksgiving from Five Counties Nursing Home! 🦃🍁

Today our home was filled with family, laughter, shared meals, and the kind of joy that makes this holiday so special. We are incredibly grateful for our residents, their families, and our amazing staff who go above and beyond every single day.

From smiling faces to heartfelt moments, these gatherings remind us of the blessings of togetherness. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this Thanksgiving one to remember.

🎳 We’ve had a week full of fun already around here! 🎉
Yesterday we turned the hallway into our very own bowling alley — lots of laughs, and some impressive strikes!

Today we kept the momentum going with potato bowling, and it was just as hilarious as it sounds. 🥔😂 Our residents had a blast trying something new and enjoying the silliness together. Big Thank You to our Administrator Jordan and business office manager Kathy for coming up with this activity and spending the morning having fun with the residents.

It’s all about creativity, joy, and making every day a good one! ❤️

🎨✨ Yesterday we had a wonderful time with artist Ethan Thom creating abstract art! Everyone got hands-on (literally!) painting beautiful flowers and exploring their creative side. 🌸👩‍🎨

It was such a fun and colorful afternoon full of laughter, imagination, and artistic expression! A big thank you to Art for Life and The Grand River Arts Council for proving us with this event.💕

Today we honored our Veterans with a special program featuring Veteran Greg Karels as our guest speaker. Patriotic music, a fitting poem and descriptive history given of three Veterans within our Five Counties home made for a nice program for our residents and guests.

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary honors our resident Veterans every month with special door decorations and treats, always letting them know they are thought of. Thank you for all you do and for putting this program together for those who have served our great country.

And thank you Veterans.

We are so excited to have Ethan Thom come into our home and share his creative talent with us!

Residents and their family members will have the opportunity to Finger Paint Flowers Wednesday, Nov. 12th & 19th at 2 PM at Five Counties Nursing Home. Ethan Thom will demonstrate the technique for residents to create their own flower using their fingers. For families, it can become an intergenerational work of art as fingers combine to create!

This fun activity is sponsored by the South Dakota Arts Council and Grand River Arts Council through the Art for Life program.
