Word of the Day: Compassion

When we show compassion with ourselves...then it will be easier to open our hearts and minds to others. We can feel for others when we feel for ourselves. You’ll notice that in the compassionate person...care and love towards others springs from care and love for one’s self. As we show love and compassion for ourselves...our souls are healed... and greater compassion will pour out to others.

Word of the Day: Acceptance

Acceptance is the attitude of accepting things as they are right now brings about relaxation and peace of mind. When we accept a situation...we avoid the tension that accompanies needing to have an outcome right away. We can learn acceptance. When thoughts come flooding into our minds...we can let them go. We can respond with, “That’s the way it is...right now.” This accepting attitude immediately gives us a sense of peace and serenity.

Wisdom is the ability to discover truth...and exercise good judgment and common sense. But wisdom is far more. It is a gift from above that goes beyond mere knowledge. It’s seeing not just a part of the picture, but the whole. Ancient wisdom tells us to seek this virtue above everything else for this is our source of life and health.

Truth is honesty...sincerity...integrity...and love in our communication. When we’re honest with others...we’re telling them that we respect them enough to tell them the truth. When we speak truth in love and receive truth...we create space for transformation and positive change. -Based on Ephesians 4:15 “speak the truth in love.”

Trust is confidence in...and reliance on...our connection to the Sacred life force. Trust is love...faith...and hope in action. It’s a firm belief that we’re being guided by the Spirit...and that in the end...things are going to be better. God will breathe into our hearts possibility and will never...ever let us down...when we put our trust in Him and His presence within us.

Respect is valuing and caring for all of creation. It’s showing good stewardship. And it’s complying with societal and organizational rules, regulations, and laws. It’s recognizing the value, sacredness, and dignity of our self and other human beings. When it comes to our fellowman, we can show respect by taking someone's feelings..needs...thoughts...ideas...wishes…and preferences into consideration...acknowledging them...listening to them…being truthful with them...and accepting their individuality and idiosyncrasies. And we can behave in ways that are respectful toward our self...in ways that say, “You are valuable”...and worthy of care and consideration.“

Peace of mind and heart is an inner sense of calm and serenity. A peaceful mind is one that is free from worry and trouble. When your mind is tranquil, ill thoughts cease. Peace comes from quieting the mind, living in the moment...looking for the good in others, facing our fears and letting them go...and trusting God that everything will turn out all right.
