Always fun talking to PT students! It's been a busy week at the career fairs! Here are some photos from last Friday at Carroll College. This week brought us to North Central College and Governor's State University!

DPT is happy to present North Branch Broncos October Student-Athletes of the Month!

Sophomore, MacKayla Wheaton, is a fine example of a hardworking student-athlete, as she was on the varsity cheer team while also dual participating in the marching band, and maintaining excellent academics, too. Her coach, Tiffany Borck, says MacKayla was motivated and a supportive teammate. Keep up the great work in the future, MacKayla!

Charlie Fields, a freshman on the cross-country team, had an awesome ending to his season finishing the regional meet with his career best time of 17:23. He was also nominated for 1st Team BWAC All Conference for North Branch. Way to start your high school cross-country career off right, Charlie. Your friends at DPT are proud of you! The future is bright for these NB athletes.

From Delia, one of our hand therapy patients:

"After breaking my right elbow, I lost almost all range of motion in my dominant arm. Simple daily tasks-using a fork, brushing my hair, getting dressed, sleeping comfortably, or even picking things up-became nearly impossible, and I had to rely on my husband for almost everything. When I started therapy with the DPT and OT team, they immediately designed splints tailored to my recovery, adjusting them as my progress improved.

"Through therapy, my improvements came step by step. My range of motion gradually returned, my strength increased as the exercises became more challenging, and I was finally able to do the daily tasks that once felt impossible. Over time, I regained my independence and the confidence that I could get back to normal life. What once felt overwhelming and out of reach slowly turned into real progress, and now I am almost back to 100%.

"What made my experience unique was the way the OT team cared for me throughout the process. They didn't just focus on the technical side of recovery--they took time to understand my personal goals and adjusted my treatment to match what mattered most to me. Their encouragement and dedication on even the hardest days made me feel supported every step of the way. It truly felt like a team effort to get me back to being myself."
