🎉It’s Inclusive Schools Week! All week long our Include Me team is sharing inclusive strategies and stories.
In this video, learn about the importance of co-regulation and how small, mindful actions by adults can make a difference for the children in their care. Because when big feelings and challenges show up, kids can use the flexible thinking and problem solving that adults have modeled for them.

Next week, December 8-12, is Inclusive Schools Week (ISW)!

The 2025 theme, “Children First,” is rooted in the powerful Maasai greeting, Casserian Engeri, which translates to “And how are the children?” This traditional salutation reflects the Maasai’s deep commitment to ensuring that their children are well, recognizing that the well-being of children reflects the health and future of the entire society.

Putting Children First means prioritizing every student’s right to learn in an environment that supports their diverse needs, embraces their unique abilities, and fosters a sense of belonging. It means recognizing that when schools are designed to support students with disabilities, they become better places for all learners.

Today is National Special Education Day! This day commemorates the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act being signed into law by President Gerald Ford in 1975, originally named the Education for All Handicapped Children Act. This is a time to recognize the progress made in educating students with disabilities and to be aware of ongoing challenges. We express gratitude to all advocates, past and present, fighting for these rights!

Last week, we hosted a “Thankful For Our Staff” Movie Watch Party! Staff gathered in our office as well as remotely to simultaneously view the award-winning Disney film “Out of My Mind”, based on the novel of the same name. Afterwards, we shared takeaways in a thoughtful group discussion. We are grateful for this incredible team that makes every gathering meaningful. And if you haven’t seen the film yet, add it to your watch list now!
