The Arc of Pennsylvania is seeking a qualified researcher or research organization to conduct an evaluation of our Include Me Program (IM). The mission of IM is to develop, support and enhance disability inclusive practices across Pennsylvania. We partner with school districts to create a comprehensive plan that meets the unique needs of the district, teachers and families.
The Arc of Pennsylvania is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or organizations to conduct an external evaluation of the data collection tools and processes currently used in the IM initiative.

Our staff spotlight for February is Kristen Turner! Kristen started working at The Arc of Pennsylvania in July 2022. Before joining The Arc, she was an elementary teacher in inclusive classrooms, where she was extremely passionate about supporting students who needed the most support. After moving to Pittsburgh, she joined The Arc as an Inclusion Specialist and is currently Lead Program Specialist, Technical Assistance Focus.

In her role, Kristen works closely with educators, students, and families to support meaningful inclusion in schools. Her work includes helping implement behavior plans, providing accommodation support, recommending or using sensory tools, and so much more! She loves that her job allows her to support inclusion in many different ways and that no two days ever look the same. One of her favorite parts of the job right now is leading Disability Acceptance Through Literature book studies with a sixth-grade class, where students are reading Out of My Mind and engaging in thoughtful conversations about disability and empathy.
Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, and trying new foods. Her favorite food is tacos of all kinds, from authentic tacos to American tacos to Taco Bell tacos. If it’s a taco, she’s a fan.

Our CEO, Sherri Landis, joined education advocates and superintendents at the State Capitol on January 29 to urge lawmakers to continue funding Pennsylvania's constitutionally mandated adequacy investments.
