Here at SOZO Therapy Group we believe that shame is information not who you are. Shame provides information for who you think you are, but this is information based on evidence that does not tell the whole story. During our lives we experience challenging moments where we make mistakes, we are forced into things we are not ready for, and we are not emotionally supported by our caregivers, friends, and relationships. These all end in our brains, sometimes, telling us things that are not true in an attempt to keep us safe. In order for shame to have little power over how we make decisions and interact with the world, we must understand the story our brains are telling to keep our bodies safe. Then we must understand the context and have grace for ourselves. Then we move into a changing of thoughts. When the trigger arises we listen and acknowledge and then we make changes. Most people do not learn this, and most people need help uncovering the root of the shame. At SOZO Therapy Group we have incredible therapists who want to help you understand why you are doing what you are doing, process through it, and change your thoughts and patterns. Together we can help you live the life you’ve always dreamed of. For more information or to get started today click the link in our bio.

In relationships, we see compromise as each person giving up something they want to help the relationship grow. Often, this can be confused with giving up a part of yourself to allow the relationship to maintain stability. The problem with this is that one partner feels like they are compromising way too often, potentially more than the other. This can lead to one partner becoming less and less authentic to themselves and ripping parts of themselves away to keep the peace. A healthy relationship looks like mutual respect, authenticity in ourselves and with our partner, and each person actively working towards being the best version of themselves. When you know who you are and stick to it, someone will come along who will champion that version of you. This person will not need you to be less of yourself so that they can be ok. Keeping the peace can also do more damage than good. This is because now your partner has learned that you will not fight back. So when you begin to find your voice, there may be some pushback. Here at SOZO Therapy Group, we want to help you find your voice. We want to help you and your partner learn to be fully yourselves within the dynamics of the relationship. Couples, let us help you find the natural rhythm and beauty in your relationship. For more information or to get started today, click the link in our bio.

When we are not authentic, it creates misalignment in our bodies. This can cause anxiety to rise in our bodies because our bodies want authenticity. Our bodies want to feel heard by us. They want to know that they are safe, and when we do not provide safety, the body responds. This can be incredibly challenging when we have been living inauthentically for so long. Choosing differently can be scary, and it often leads to immediate peace. Choosing to stand your ground can allow you the inner trust to continue to grow and change. Here at SOZO Therapy Group, we want to help you find yourself. Therapy should be a safe place to process those things that make us feel guilty or ashamed. Here we provide a landing place for you until you are ready to face the world on your own. We know asking for help can feel overwhelming, but what bravery it takes to do so. What if? What if you learned how trust was built, maintained, and broken? This would drastically impact how you interact with those around you and in your relationships. When we have no knowledge, we often make decisions that impact us without knowing the extent of the impact. Having grace for those mistakes and taking accountability can lead to healing and mended trust. Here at SOZO Therapy Group we have been working with broken trust for over 15 years. Together we want to help you along this journey. For more information or to get started today click the link in our bio.

There is free flow when you are connected to your true self. When all the things are natural and connected there is flow similar to a waterfall. The water continues, just as the emotions flow and splash and come to an end. We are one with ourselves. Sometimes we disconnect and the river stops, or gets blocked. It is our job to find the cause and heal the broken pieces. We can choose to stay stuck, but the river will run dry. Eventually, causing harm to the surrounding areas. For growth and beauty we need a flowing river. Here at SOZO Therapy Group we want to help unclog your river. We want to watch you flower and grow. In 2026 we want to help you become connected to yourself again. If you or someone you know is in need please contact us by clicking the link in our bio.

Did you know that cows run away from storms, but buffalo run toward them? While cows try to escape the storm, buffalo face it head-on, minimizing their pain, stress, and time spent struggling. At Sozo, we embrace this buffalo mindset when it comes to challenges and problems. We believe in walking with you through your storm because we know you’re capable of more than you realize.

In our office, you’ll see buffalo images throughout the space as a reminder of strength, resilience, and courage. This symbol is at the heart of our approach to therapy: there is no storm you can’t weather.

If you’re ready to face your challenges and move through them, we’re here to guide you. Click the link in our bio or reach out to us at info@sozotherapygroup.com to learn more.
