Have you ever been to a therapy office where you walked in and felt connected to the decor of the room. Where everything in it embodied the experience you were desiring to have? Well here at SOZO Therapy Group we understand the importance of decor and how it can make a client feel when they walk into the room. We know that there is power in creating a space where people can look around and find something that catches their eye. This is also a type of grounding. When we let our eyes move from thing to thing and we notice, we are allowing our bodies to focus outside of ourselves. This inherently causes us to take our energy and attention away from what’s burdening us. Some of our therapists begin the sessions like this. Creating space for the client to slow down and refocus before entering into the therapeutic process. At first I can feel a little odd to do this, but over time it will become a natural response when there is a sense of overwhelm. We teach our bodies to look outward and slow down. Have you considered your intention? Why do you do what you do? What’s your motivation? In these answers you may find meaning. Is meaning all that matters? When you step back and identify those now what? How do you make changes to feed those internal motivations? How do you restructure your life so that you are getting your needs met without causing harm to or disconnection with yourself? These are questions that we ask frequently in the therapy setting. We are constantly working to identify patterns and behaviors that we don’t like, to w**d out the bad and make room for good. But what if your behaviors and patterns weren’t bad and they simply just were. Could you look at them with a more neutral view? Identifying the things that don’t feel congruent with ourselves and changing them to align more with who we inherently are. At SOZO Therapy Group we are not afraid of the things that bring you shame. We welcome them. We see them at protective measures and together we can begin to have grace and empathy for you. To learn to love yourself without conditions. To use your shame as a road map back to yourself. For more information or to get started today click the link in our bio.

In the desert, water is unavailable. Unless you bring it with you or by some magic you find some. The metaphor here is that you get to bring the water with you. The things that you learned leading up to this moment are what you will take on your journey. When life feels dry and waterless there we find magic. When we surrender to the process and the journey we are led to water. Your body knows the way to water. Follow it. Let yourself be guided through the dry moments. Follow the internal compass. It’s got to rain at some point. The storms will bring water. Into the season of dryness, the clouds roll in and change the entire ecosystem. They create new growth. They bring life. Therapy is your water. Giving you tools for your journey. Allowing clouds to roll in and create new rivers. Here at SOZO Therapy Group we understand the challenges that life can create and we want to help you listen to that inner voice in you telling you which way to go. ✨ **New year, new energy, same you—just more supported.** ✨
The start of a new year is a powerful invitation to pause, reflect, and pour back into yourself. Self-care isn’t just bubble baths and planners (though we love those too 😉)—it’s choosing growth, healing, and intention.

💛 **Therapy is one of the most meaningful forms of self-care.**
It’s a space to unpack the past, navigate the present, and build a future that actually feels aligned with who you are. You don’t have to wait until things fall apart to ask for support—you deserve care right now.

At **SOZO Therapy Group**, we’re here to walk with you every step of the way. Whether you’re setting boundaries, processing emotions, or simply wanting to feel more like *you*, this can be the year you choose yourself.

I recently heard somewhere that we need to add a little bit of whimsy to our day to day. Whimsy allows space for creativity, fun, laughter, and magic. The amazing thing about adding whimsy is it helps fight depression. Being whimsy can bring a smile to one’s face allowing for a momentary reprieve from normal life. A little distraction is needed every now and then. You can’t expect your body to be ready to take on the world all the time. There must be time to rest and recharge. In therapy we often times go through a trial and error period where clients are experimenting with rest and self care. This is not something that we are taught to do. So we must slow down and try new things. For more information on how to get started or about therapy services click the link in our bio.
