Today, on Ash Wednesday, we begin the sacred season of Lent — a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts for Easter. ✝️

We are so grateful for our CCH Deacons who generously spent time with residents and our patients offering ashes and prayer. The ashes, placed on our foreheads in the sign of the cross, are a powerful reminder that we belong to Christ. They symbolize repentance, humility, and our need for God’s mercy, while also calling us to renewal and deeper faith.

Ash Wednesday reminds us that life is a gift, that we are invited to turn back to God, and that hope and redemption are always possible through Him.

Thank you to our CCH Deacons for helping bring this beautiful tradition of faith, reflection, and hope to our community. We are so grateful for you.

Over the weekend, our team had the opportunity to speak at Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Kansas City, KS to share more about our services and how we are part of Call to Share for the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

Thank you to Fr. Mark and Fr. Tim for the warm welcome and support. We are grateful to be part of such a strong faith community.

Hi! I am Alexis Oberle, and I have the privilege of being the newest Community Liaison with CCH.

In my role, I will be providing additional support to our patients and facilities collaborating with CCH.

I have a degree in Communication from Pittsburg State University (Go Gorillas!). I have a background in activities but always felt a pull towards the hospice community. Growing up I had always been around healthcare, with my mother being a social worker and having worked in hospice as well as facilities.

I am a newlywed and we’re currently in the process of buying our fist house! I love watching sports – especially KU basketball , reading the latest romance novels, binge watching reality tv, and being crafty.

Catholic Community Health is excited to welcome Mitch Nolan as Director of Mission Outreach & Development. Mitch brings a strong faith and wealth of experience, having previously served the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas and the Theta Chi Fraternity Foundation.

Mitch is a cradle Catholic and has a passion for building meaningful relationships that strengthen mission-driven work. He is excited to share the impact of our care with the community and connect individuals who feel called to support our cause.

Mitch is engaged to his beautiful fiancé, Rebecca, and will be getting married in September 2026. He is a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, a member of the Mid-America Charitable Gift Planners Association, and Chapter Advisor for Theta Chi at the University of Kansas.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, working out, and rooting on the Kansas Jayhawks. Join us in giving Mitch a big CCH welcome!
