Spring is here, which means it's time for yard work! However, all that bending, lifting, and twisting can put a lot of strain on your back. Here are some tips to prevent back pain while doing spring yard work:
1. Warm up your muscles before starting any heavy lifting or bending.
2. Use proper lifting techniques. Bend at the knees, not at the waist, and lift with your legs, not your back.
3. Take breaks often and stretch out your back muscles.
4. Use ergonomically designed tools that are appropriate for your size and strength.
5. Consider using a back brace to support your lower back while lifting heavy items.
6. Call or message me to get an individualized program to prevent pain issues or help you get out of pain so you can get back to doing the things you love!
