I used to teach traditional fitness classes including outdoor bootcamp. While it was a great workout for my body, my body didn't always feel better afterwards. I turned to Pilates for help. Pilates is a low impact, energy building, body strengthening form of exercise for me that keeps my body feeling its best!

Our Story

Wilder Plates was created by owner and instructor, Karen Wilder. Teaching traditional fitness classes wasn’t enough for Karen’s body so she turned to pilates for help. Pilates low impact, energy building, body strengthening form of exercise helped Karen feel her best. Her passion for fitness and pilates had inspired Karen to build her own studio.

Wilder Pilates is Located in the Blue Valley Bank building on Woodland Road in Lenexa, Kansas. The studio is an inviting, open and non-intimidating space dedicated to Pilates. Wilder Pilates is a fully equipped studio. Our expert instruction combined with top notch apparatus allows us to help you achieve your fitness goals.

We offer private and semi-private instruction in addition to small group equipment classes. Private lessons are the the best option for learning the method and getting individualized instruction catered to your body’s needs. Semi-private lessons are best with someone you know that works at a similar fitness level as you in order to obtain the best benefits. Small group equipment classes are great for those without major health issues. Classes are great for accountability, commitment and camaraderie.

Our instructors are trained and certified teachers of the method. We don’t just talk the talk of Pilates, we walk the walk. Meaning, we are also students, studying, taking our own lessons and classes, attending workshops, trainings and conferences and deepening the knowledge so we can pass it on to you!
