It’s Prescription Drug Take Back Day—a great reminder to safely dispose of unused or expired medications and help keep our community safe 💊
For safe disposal, you can use local medication drop boxes, available at:
• Lenoir Police Department
• Walmart and CVS pharmacies
At Helping Hands Clinic, we also work to ensure medications are used responsibly and reach those in need. If you are interested in donating unopened medications, please follow our guidelines:
• Please contact the clinic before dropping off donations to confirm eligibility
• Medications must be unexpired and in original, sealed packaging
• We do not accept controlled substances

Proper disposal helps prevent misuse, protects our environment, and keeps medications out of the wrong hands.

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we are incredibly grateful for the heart and dedication of our Helping Hands Clinic volunteers 💙
In 2025, 61 volunteers gave an amazing 1,515 hours of service to support our mission of providing free healthcare to our uninsured neighbors. From welcoming patients at the pharmacy window and assisting in the clinic to lending professional expertise, every hour given makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Your generosity, kindness, and commitment are what make our work possible. Because of you, our community is healthier, stronger, and more connected.

Introducing Lisa Propst, Clinic and Pharmacy Support Coordinator! Lisa has been with Helping Hands Clinic since February 2026.
When asked about her favorite part of her job, Lisa said, " I like the connection between the clinic and pharmacy, ensuring our patients receive the care and medications they need without delays. It is rewarding knowing I play a small part in helping people feel better every day! I have met some truly amazing people in the short time I have been at HHC. The staff, providers, volunteers and patients have all welcomed me with kindness, I truly appreciate that!"
Fun Facts about Lisa: "I was born and raised in Caldwell County. It gives me great pride to be a part of such a wonderful organization that gives back to this community. I live in Granite Falls and I have 3 fur-babies, 2 cats and 1 dog. I have 2 beautiful daughters, both married, my son-in-laws are awesome!! I have 3 granddogs and 1 grandcat. I enjoy spending time with all my family. In my spare time I enjoy diamond painting, fishing, traveling, planting flowers and having family cook-outs. "

The average price for a new CPAP machine is approximately $750 to $1000. This is out of reach for our low income, uninsured patients. Please donate if your machine is in good working condition and from a smoke free home. Thank you.
