Here's the latest update we've received from the Mass Dept. of Transitional Assistance regarding November 1st SNAP benefits:

"Due to the Trump administration’s federal government shutdown, November SNAP benefits for all recipients are at risk of not being sent. If the shutdown extends beyond October 31, SNAP benefits scheduled for November will not be sent, meaning that approximately one million Massachusetts residents will not receive the food benefits they need and were promised.

DTA is working in coordination with food banks and emergency providers and maintaining daily communication with federal partners to monitor the situation. The Healey-Driscoll administration is exploring all available options to support affected residents while federal benefits remain suspended.

Constituents facing immediate need can access resources through the Project Bread FoodSource Hotline at (800) 645-8333 and local food pantries. DTA offices remain open to provide other services. State funded programs including HIP, TAFDC, and EAEDC continue normally.

We are monitoring the federal situation and will inform you immediately on updates.

You can find more information for you and constituents on mass.gov/SNAPupdates."

Here's the most up-to-date list of local food pantries and free community meals we could gather. If you have updates/additions, please let us know and we'll keep updating these resources!
