Planning for pregnancy without building strength is like planning the perfect wedding… and forgetting there’s an entire marriage after.

I know people say, “Just do the exercise you enjoy,” and that can be great if you’re really struggling to even get off the couch.

But I also think it’s important to try things you say you don’t like—because usually, it’s not that you hate it… you’re just scared. And could be the SIGN that is what you actually need. 👀

Scared of looking silly.
Scared of being judged.
Scared of being a beginner.

Adults forget what it feels like to start at zero. And that’s the hardest place to be.

I almost quit field hockey in high school because my first season was SO hard.
But then the next year, I got better.
And better.
And better.

And eventually I played D1 hockey—now my whole career is helping other people push through that same “beginner fear.”🤯

If I quit just because it felt hard at first, I would’ve missed the chance to get better… and maybe even love it.

So yes—start with what you enjoy.

But if you keep getting stuck, hurt, discouraged, or quitting… that’s a sign you might need a coach to help you go farther than DIY can take you.

The fastest way out of pain?

🟡 Gradual exposure — not avoidance.

But that’s not what most people do.
Because the honest truth?

Most of us were taught to ignore, delay, or distract from what feels hard.
And it shows up everywhere:

→ Your back hurts, so you stop training altogether (instead of adjusting + progressing smart).

→ You feel pain with running, so you stop moving entirely (instead of building the strength to support it).

→ You want to feel strong again, but keep waiting for the “right time” (which never shows up).

But the longer you wait, the more your body adapts to doing nothing.

The fastest way to solve any problem?

You lean in and work the problem — not wish it away.
Not procrastinate. Not scroll for another hack. Not wait until your calendar is clear.

❌ Not “maybe next year when it’s less busy”
❌ Not “maybe after I lose 5 pounds”
❌ Not “maybe after I fix my glute med or IT band with this one stretch I saw on IG”

Pain isn’t the stop sign you think it is.
It’s the signal to move — smarter, more supported, more intentionally.

You’re not broken. You’re just under-trained for the life you want.

Most adults want to jump back into lunges, hiking, skating, or running…
but their SI joint says “absolutely not.”

I am passionate about everything that comes to health and wellness. I strive to live and practice with the “learn in all” mindset. From movement-based therapy to functional nutrition, I am constantly learning and developing to become a well rounded holistic practitioner. I practice with the philosophy that one system or protocol does not work for everyone.
