Today we were excited to break ground on our new medical building at the Abessinio Health Campus in Rehoboth!

In partnership with Lewes Surgery Center, the new building will feature a surgery center on the second floor with four operating rooms. With plans for additional community focused services underway for the first and third floor, the new medical building will further centralize services at our largest health campus, and help us better serve the health needs of our community in Sussex County.

MyChart FAQ!

As Beebe patients have been signing up and accessing their MyChart accounts, some questions have come up, and we have answers for you! In order to message a clinician in MyChart:

-You must have a P*P identified or assigned in MyChart.
-You must have had an appointment with that provider in the past year or have one scheduled in the next 3 months.
-The clinician must be employed by Beebe. Private practice clinicians are not able to be messaged in MyChart. Please refer to previous messaging portals like Athena for communication.
-Clinicians in the Emergency Department are not able to be messaged. Follow-up conversations should be conducted with your P*P.

If your clinician meets the criteria above and doesn't appear on your MyChart account, please call 302-645-3300 for assistance.

Yesterday we were honored to host Sen. Marie Pinkney and healthcare leaders from across the state for the Sussex County Medicaid Roundtable to discuss the urgent challenges facing Delawareans in our county.

This roundtable was a second in a series of statewide discussions on the future of Medicaid in Delaware, and the unique barriers faced by rural and marginalized populations in southern Delaware. The conversation focused on access to care, provider shortages, and how the state and community partnerships can work together to continue care. We were grateful to be apart of the conversation.

Beebe Primary Care Millville is proud to welcome Gracie Chaires, PA-C to !

Working in the primary care setting, PA Chaires treats patients age seven and older who are experiencing a wide range of acute and chronic health issues. She is passionate about preventive medicine and promotes the importance of seeing a trusted clinical provider on a regular basis as well as scheduling recommended health screenings, based on age and personal medical history. PA Chaires takes time to educate her patients and engages them in ways that allows them to make well-informed decisions about their health.

Today, Beebe Healthcare hosted healthcare leaders, legislative dignitaries, and Governor Matt Meyer, who held a press conference to announce Delaware's application last week for up to $1 billion from the Rural Health Transformation Program.

It was an important moment for Beebe to be on that stage with leaders from around the state because, as Dr. Tam shared, "The confluence of being the fastest growing county in the mid-Atlantic, the most rapidly aging population, and the continued struggles to increase our healthcare workforce places Sussex County and Beebe Healthcare at ground zero of the rural healthcare crisis faced by communities across this nation."

Many of the projects outlined in the governor's proposal align with Beebe's strategic plan for care in Sussex County: creating access, reducing barriers to care, and adding health literacy in Sussex County through technology, partnerships, education, and community-based models.

Beebe’s Milton Health Center was thrilled to host Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) Secretary Christen Linke Young. She received both her influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations for this respiratory illness season to protect herself, family, and community.

Dr. Tam and other Beebe leaders toured the facility and spoke about Beebe’s strategic growth and how it is creating access in rural areas across Sussex County. Thank you for stopping by Sec. Young and welcome again to Delaware!

Welcome to Dr. Kemp!

Lawrence Kemp, MD, is a general neurologist who diagnoses and treats patients with dementias, movement disorders, and neuromuscular diseases. He also sees patients who have multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraines, and neuropathies. Dr. Kemp is committed to serving Sussex County as its population ages. He is especially passionate about increasing access to outpatient-based care, as Beebe’s continues to grow its neurology service offerings.
