Radiation treatment can be life saving, but it may leave a lasting mark on healthy tissue. That is called late radiation tissue injury, and it can show up as pain, bleeding, skin breakdown, jaw problems, pelvic issues, or even bone damage.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is one tool used to support healing in radiation damaged tissue. Inside a pressurized chamber, you breathe concentrated oxygen, which can help:
• Support new blood vessel growth
• Improve oxygen delivery in injured tissue
• Assist collagen and tissue repair
• Support certain cases of bone infection (osteomyelitis)
HBOT is not a cure and it is not right for everyone, but for carefully selected patients it can be an important part of a larger care plan.
At Delaware Hyperbarics in Lewes, Delaware, we work with chronic wounds, radiation injury and radiation damage, and bone infection in coordination with your oncologist and other specialists.

Chronic wounds are exhausting. They take time, energy, and emotional bandwidth. They can limit mobility and independence, and for some patients they even raise the fear of amputation.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a powerful tool for certain non healing wounds and bone infections. In a pressurized chamber, you breathe concentrated oxygen that helps:
• Increase oxygen levels in poorly perfused tissue
• Support white blood cells as they fight infection
• Encourage new blood vessel growth
• Assist in cases of bone infection (osteomyelitis) and radiation related wounds
HBOT is usually combined with advanced wound care, good blood sugar control, off loading, and antibiotics when needed. It is not a quick fix, but it can be a crucial piece of the limb salvage puzzle for the right patient.
At Delaware Hyperbarics in Lewes, Delaware, we work closely with wound care teams and specialists to integrate HBOT for chronic wounds, radiation damage, and bone infection.

Autism is more than behavior—it’s a brain-and-body condition that can affect how kids communicate, connect, and process the world around them. 🧠

In this video, we break down how Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) impacts the brain and why some families are exploring Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) as one tool in a wider care plan.

HBOT is a medical treatment where patients breathe concentrated oxygen in a pressurized chamber. Research and case reports suggest it may help support brain blood flow, calm inflammation, and influence repair processes. Some families and clinics report improvements in social connection, repetitive behaviors, sensory and gut issues, and language/emotional regulation.

HBOT is not a cure for autism, and using HBOT for autism is considered off-label and experimental—so it should always be done under medical supervision and alongside your child’s primary providers.

Delaware Hyperbarics provides medically supervised HBOT in real clinical chambers, not spa pods. We also see patients with radiation damage, radiation injury, and bone infection (osteomyelitis), along with chronic wounds and post-surgical healing needs.

Want to learn more? Talk with your child’s provider and then reach out to schedule a consultation.

First day after my first hyperbaric chamber session and here’s what I noticed 👇

I had some problems with my ears during the session, so they slowed down the pressurization specifically for me since my ears are more sensitive. That small adjustment made the whole experience way more comfortable.

The real surprise was afterward — I slept deeply and woke up feeling genuinely refreshed, like I actually got quality rest.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is being used more and more for recovery, brain and body health, radiation damage, and even bone infection (osteomyelitis). I’m just at the beginning of this journey, but I’m curious to see how I feel after a full series of sessions.

Have you ever tried a hyperbaric chamber or thought about it? Drop your questions or experiences in the comments.

There are major benefits to showing up consistently. Research shows that consistent effort over just 8-9 weeks can lengthen telomeres and do amazing things for the brain. Time is the only real obstacle. It's super beneficial!

Hyperbaric chambers get tons of positive reviews. Research shows they're great for athletic recovery and overall health. That's why I decided to give it a shot and see what all the fuss is about. Have you tried it?

Autism isn’t “just behavioral.”
Many autistic kids show real changes in brain blood flow and brain function, especially in areas involved in language, emotion, and social connection.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is one option some doctors use to support a healthier brain environment by increasing oxygen and helping support blood flow and inflammation. It’s not a cure, and it’s not the right fit for every child—but for some families it becomes one tool in a bigger care plan alongside speech, OT, PT, and behavioral therapy.
Always talk with your child’s medical team before starting any new treatment.
Save this if you’re researching options, and share it with someone who’s on the autism journey too. 💙

Planning a cosmetic procedure? Don’t forget to plan your recovery strategy too. 💡
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is increasingly used as a supportive therapy after:
• Facelifts & eyelid surgery
• Tummy tucks & body contouring
• Breast augmentation/reduction
• Fat transfer and liposuction
HBOT may help your body:
🔹 Deliver more oxygen to stressed tissues
🔹 Clear waste products more efficiently
🔹 Support immune response and reduce infection risk
🔹 Get you back to normal life sooner
At Delaware Hyperbarics, we see patients for cosmetic surgery recovery, radiation damage, chronic wounds, and bone infection (osteomyelitis). Our goal: help your body heal as efficiently as possible.
✅ Talk with your surgeon about adding HBOT to your post-op plan, then reach out to us to see how we can help.

Cosmetic surgery isn’t just about the result—it’s about how well you heal. ✨
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can be an add-on to your cosmetic surgery journey, helping to:
💨 Improve oxygen delivery to damaged tissues
🩹 Support collagen formation and healthy scar tissue
🧊 Help calm inflammation and tenderness after surgery
Patients use HBOT alongside their surgeon’s post-op plan to support better outcomes—not just how things look, but how they feel as you recover. The same healing power that helps radiation injury and bone infection (osteomyelitis) can also support cosmetic surgery recovery.
At Delaware Hyperbarics, our team focuses on comfort, safety, and education so you understand exactly how HBOT fits into your overall plan.
